It was an absolute pleasure to be part of such a wonderful community celebration, but the highlight of the day was honoring Bill Dyck for an extraordinary 50 years of service as a Funeral Director.

For half a century, Bill has faithfully served families with kindness, compassion, and genuine care during some of life's most difficult moments. His dedication has touched thousands of lives and has left an enduring mark on our community.

Bill, thank you for your unwavering commitment, your servant's heart, and the legacy you've built over the past five decades. Congratulations on this incredible milestone—it was an honor to celebrate you today!

Crossings Funeral Care is pleased to extend a warm welcome to the fire chiefs from across Manitoba attending the 2026 Manitoba Association of Fire Chiefs Conference, taking place June 11–13 in Steinbach.

Hosted by the dedicated teams of the Steinbach Fire Department, Hanover Fire/Rescue, and the Eastman Mutual Aid District, this conference brings together leaders who work tirelessly to protect our communities, support their members, and serve others in times of need.

We would like to thank all fire chiefs and fire service leaders for their commitment, courage, and dedication. Your service makes a difference every day, and we are honoured to welcome you to our community.

Today, on International Firefighters' Day, we take a moment to honour the brave men and women who serve our communities with courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication.

Firefighters are often present on some of life’s most difficult days—bringing not only protection in moments of crisis, but also a steady and reassuring presence when it’s needed most.

At Crossings Funeral Care, we deeply respect the role firefighters play in caring for our communities. Their service and sacrifice do not go unnoticed.

Everyone grieves differently and we all process our losses uniquely. We don’t get to pick when a fresh wave of grief will hit us. But mama, you don’t have to keep apologizing. No one gets to put an expiration date on your grief. So if you need to take a minute today to ugly cry, do it. Consider this your permission slip to grieve.
