2026 Pain Awareness Month: UNDERSTAND

Better pain care begins with better understanding.

Because pain is invisible, others may question whether it is real or serious.

This can leave people with pain feeling misunderstood or unfairly treated.

This stigma can make it difficult to talk about pain with other people, including healthcare providers.

Living with neuropathic pain can feel lonely. Supporting people to make meaningful social connections in their communities is crucial to managing their pain.

We also need to keep working to improve understanding of neuropathic pain so that people living with it are treated more kindly by others.

Our therapists are here to listen to you. We understand how pain can affect you and your life, and we are here to help.

Why is International Self Care day recognized on July 24 each year? To highlight the importance of self care 24/7- we need to take care of ourselves every day!! 🫪
