We took a trip out to the new park in Yorkson, Langley and stumbled upon this Communication Board. It was such a highlight of the visit.

Communication is a fundamental human right, yet for many, traditional verbal speech isn’t how they connect with the world. Seeing a dedicated board like this in a public play space is a powerful reminder that “inclusive play” means ensuring everyone has the tools to be heard, to share their joy, and to interact with their peers.

Since it’s Better Speech and Hearing Month, I wanted to give a huge shout-out to for this initiative. It is a brilliant, necessary step toward creating spaces where every child feels welcome and empowered. Seeing accessibility integrated so naturally into the design is exactly what we need to see more of in this day and age.

Every day in our clinic, we get to see the quiet, beautiful moments that completely change a family’s world. We see a child who used to get frustrated suddenly light up because someone finally understood exactly what they were trying to say.

Today is National SLP Day, and we want to celebrate the wonderful people who make those moments happen. Our Speech-Language Pathologists do not just teach words or sounds. They spend their days listening deeply, playing with purpose, and figuring out what makes each individual child tick. They are the ones who sit on the floor, lean into a child’s world, and patiently guide them until they find their own way to share it.

To our amazing SLPs at , thank you for your endless patience, your massive hearts, and the way you champion our kids and families every single day. We are so incredibly grateful for you.

May is Speech and Hearing Month, and we are celebrating the incredible team it takes to help a child find their voice. 🗣️✨

This month, we are shining a light on the dedication required to make communication possible. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to the expertise of every Speech-Language Pathologist, Audiologist, and Hearing Instrument Practitioner. Your skill and passion are the catalysts for so much progress.

But the teamwork doesn’t stop there. We are equally dedicated to celebrating the hardest working members of this team: the parents, guardians, and caretakers. You are the daily champions. You are the ones implementing the strategies during playtime, during meals, and through big emotions.
