New update: Alberta Drug Benefit Formulary

The Alberta Drug Benefit Formulary has been updated to include the AeroChamber2go* spacer. Patients are now eligible for reimbursement for one chamber size per year with a valid prescription.

Correct inhaler technique plays a key role in managing asthma—but it isn’t always easy. Up to 80% of people experience challenges using their inhaler effectively, particularly during flare-ups or when symptoms occur outside the home.

The Canadian Thoracic Society (CTS) guidelines recommend chambers for pMDI patients of all ages to support effective lung medication deposition and address improper inhaler technique.

Improved access to portable devices can help support proper inhaler use when it matters most. The AeroChamber2go* spacer is a 2-in-1 spacer and protective case designed to support pMDI medication delivery for people on the go.

Consider speaking with a healthcare provider about whether a chamber or spacer could be a helpful addition to your asthma management plan.
