As we observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October, we come together to honor survivors, remember those we have lost, and stand in deep solidarity with everyone currently fighting or supporting a loved one through a breast cancer diagnosis.

Breast cancer touches countless lives—with statistics showing that 1 in 8 individuals will face this diagnosis in their lifetime. Behind every number is a neighbor, a friend, a family member, or a colleague. But behind every statistic is also profound strength, resilience, and hope.

Thanks to ongoing research and earlier detection, survival rates continue to improve, proving that our collective awareness and care truly save lives.

We believe ALL Ontario Residents should be aware of Ontario Works Funeral & Cremation Assistance.
Families or individuals already receiving government assistance are pre-qualified, but ANYONE needing assistance can apply for
Funeral, Cremation, Burial, and Memorial Assistance directly at the Funeral Home.
Every municipality in Ontario has a Funeral Assistance Program that will cover the necessary Funeral expenses for those residents who do not have sufficient funds to cover Funeral Costs. These programs are available to all Ontario residents and are simple to apply for.
Families or individuals already receiving government assistance are pre-qualified, but any family needing assistance can apply. The Municipal Caseworks are thoughtful and very understanding of your needs and will help you through the entire process.

In continuing our partnership with the Arbor Memorial Foundation, we’re excited to support registered charities that benefit Indigenous communities across Canada as part of Truth and Reconciliation Day on September 30th.

Scott Funeral Home - West Toronto Chapel was honored to provide much-needed support and present donations to several organizations during Truth and Reconciliation Month.

We presented $2500.00 to Native Child and Family Services of Toronto, Anduhyaun Inc., and ENAGB Indigenous Youth Agency

This initiative is an opportunity for us to acknowledge the history and legacy of residential schools, recognize the ongoing impacts on Indigenous communities, and contribute to the journey of reconciliation.

On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we pause to honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, their families, and the generations who continue to carry the impacts of these experiences.

This day calls us to listen deeply, reflect honestly, and reaffirm our shared responsibility to advance truth, justice, and reconciliation.
