Happy Thanksgiving.

If the family came home this weekend, somebody probably slept in a bedroom that still has their school photos on the dresser. Nobody has lived in it for years. It is still theirs.

Feng shui has an old rule for bedrooms: the room reflects only the people who sleep in it. That goes for your own room too. The photos of the children, the family portraits, even the pictures of the dog, all move to the living room, where the tradition says family pictures do the most good.

Love them in every other room.

When everyone has gone home, walk into each bedroom and ask who it is for now.

Sunday Mornings is back on the Elevated Living channel. This week it is about a question most of us never ask out loud. What is the money actually for. Some breathing, a short guided meditation and five journalling questions. About forty minutes, and you can do it in bed.

As April has ended, it's time for an honest inventory. Forget the curated version of your month; let's reflect on what *actually* happened. What did you accomplish? What did you shy away from? What surprised you, and what proved more challenging than anticipated? Did anything exceed your expectations?

This isn't about performance or grades. It's about genuine self-reflection to build a stronger foundation for May. Acknowledging what you avoided or did less of than intended is crucial. Unexpected successes also deserve recognition. All of it counts.

Now, consider the version of yourself stepping into May. Who are you *now*, after April's experiences? What new knowledge or insights do you possess that the 'April you' didn't?

What's that one sentence your mind replays at 3 AM? It's not always the grand pronouncements, but the quiet, persistent thoughts that truly linger. Whether it's a past job, a relationship, a lost opportunity, or a choice you're still processing, these are the narratives that often define us.

This powerful insight encourages us to confront those uninvited replays. By acknowledging and writing down even just a few lines about what keeps you up at night, you take a significant step towards understanding and moving forward.

Did you know your body has its own memory? 🤔 It's crucial for truly closing chapters in your life, not just your mind. Physical actions, like a completion ritual, provide tangible proof to your nervous system that a phase is over. This isn't just symbolic; it's a real way to signal closure and allow your body to move forward.

Your brain can update quickly, but your body takes a little longer. Engaging in a physical act to mark an ending (burning, tearing, washing away) sends a powerful message.

Are you holding onto grief from past chapters? It's a natural part of growth, but understanding *what* you're grieving is key. Often, it's the lost version of ourselves, the perceived 'wasted years,' or the unfulfilled expectations.

Instead of just acknowledging the pain, let's name it. What specific aspect of that past self or situation are you truly mourning?

Now, let's reframe. If that challenging chapter was preparation, what was it preparing you for?

By understanding the grief and reframing the past as preparation, we can move forward with clarity and purpose.

Did you know your brain doesn't store memories like a computer? It reconstructs them each time you recall them, shaping them with narrative, meaning, and cause-and-effect. This means our memories are constantly evolving, not because they're flawed, but because each recall is a form of rewriting our personal story.

This is powerful because it means the narrative you hold about your past and present is editable! You can update it with new meaning and perspective. However, there's a crucial 'in-between' phase, or as some call it, 'the wobble,' where the old story fades and the new one isn't fully formed. This can feel disorienting, but it's a natural part of growth and change. Your brain might try to pull you back to the familiar, but embracing the wobble allows for genuine transformation.
