☀️ Summer usually means spending more time outdoors, staying active, and making plans with friends and family. For many people, that also means wearing contact lenses more often.

While contact lenses are a convenient and comfortable alternative to glasses, proper handling and care are essential for keeping your eyes healthy and reducing the risk of infection.

That’s why we’ve put together 5 important contact lens safety tips to help you enjoy clear, comfortable vision all summer long. 👁️✨

Remember: small habits can make a big difference when it comes to protecting your eye health.

If you experience redness, pain, blurry vision, light sensitivity, or unusual discomfort while wearing contact lenses, don’t ignore it—contact your eye care professional.

Your tears are as unique as you are.

Tears are not just water — they contain a special mix of oils, proteins, and nutrients that help protect and nourish your eyes. This is called your tear chemistry.

When this balance changes, it can lead to dry eyes, irritation, blurry vision, and discomfort. That’s why understanding your tear film is so important for maintaining healthy vision and eye comfort. ✨

🎾👓 What an incredible day at the Inaugural Pickleball Tournament!

Bayview Vision was proud to be part of this exciting community event, sharing the importance of vision health and sports performance.

Did you know that pickleball relies heavily on visual skills such as hand-eye coordination, depth perception, peripheral awareness, and visual processing speed? Your eyes and brain work together to track the ball, anticipate movement, and react quickly on the court. Strong vision is essential for playing your best game.

We enjoyed connecting with players, discussing sports vision, showcasing sports goggles with prescription options available when needed, and introducing attendees to Maui Jim sunglasses featuring some of the best polarized lenses on the market—especially important for reducing glare and enhancing visual comfort when playing outdoors.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth—we loved being part of this fantastic event and supporting the local pickleball community!

It’s very common for patients to spend 6 or more hours a day focusing on digital devices.

When the eyes stay focused on a screen for long periods, they have to work harder to maintain clear and comfortable vision. At the same time, we naturally blink less, which can lead to dryness, irritation, blurry vision, headaches, and eye fatigue.

This is what we call Digital Eye Strain or Computer Vision Syndrome, and it has become one of the most common vision complaints we see today.

The good news is that small changes can make a big difference:

• Take regular breaks from screens
• Follow the 20-20-20 rule
• Blink more often to keep the eyes hydrated
• Reduce screen glare and adjust brightness
• Make sure your glasses or contact lens prescription is up to date
• Have regular eye exams to monitor your visual health

Screens are part of everyday life, but protecting your eyes should be too.

Many patients tell us how uncomfortable night driving has become — especially with bright LED headlights causing glare, halos, and difficulty seeing clearly. 🚗✨

What many people don’t realize is that astigmatism could be part of the reason. And it’s not just noticeable at night — astigmatism can also cause blurry vision, eye strain, and discomfort while reading, working on the computer, or using digital screens.

👉 Swipe through to learn why halos happen and what you can do about them.
