We were grateful to welcome Jill Worboys, Dietitian, to our clinic for an inservice on the important role nutrition plays in pain management.

💡 One of our biggest takeaways was that our relationship with food matters. Research continues to show that nutrition can support chronic pain management by helping regulate the nervous system, supporting hormone production, promoting a healthy gut microbiome, and influencing inflammation. Staying well hydrated is another simple but important strategy that can support overall health for people living with persistent pain.

🍎 We also learned how chronic pain itself can shape eating habits. Low energy, long-term pain medication use, and the effects of weight stigma can all make it more difficult to nourish our bodies. Taking a compassionate, individualized approach to nutrition can help support overall health and well-being alongside physiotherapy and other treatments.

A heartfelt thank you to Jill for sharing her expertise—and for treating us to her delicious specialty muffins packed with nutrition and goodness! 🧁🩵 We truly appreciated both the valuable education and the thoughtful treat.

At Concept Physiotherapy, we believe that great care begins with continuous learning. This week, out team came together to focus on Frozen Shoulder - a condition that can be both painful and restrictive.

A huge thank you to Brodie, our physiotherapist, for putting together and leading this insightful session! 🙌 Through his guidance, our team further explored the causes, early signs, and effective treatment approaches to help clients restore shoulder mobility and reduce discomfort.

With every gathering, we're reminded that growth never stops - and neither does our dedication to improving client outcomes. 💙

💆‍♀️ What is Arthrokinetic Therapy?

Arthrokinetic Therapy (AKT) is a specialized manual therapy technique that focuses on improving joint function and movement. By addressing the nervous system’s influence on muscles and joints, AKT helps restore proper alignment, reduce pain, and enhance overall mobility. It’s an evidence-based approach designed to help clients move better, feel better, and live better.
