Not all dark spots are the same. Some are vascular (red), while others are pigment-based (brown), and each needs a different treatment.

PIE shows up as red marks after acne and responds best to vascular lasers or microneedling.

PIH appears as brown marks from excess melanin and is treated with chemical peels, pigment inhibitors, and lasers.

Sun spots are caused by UV damage and can be treated with alexandrite or fractional lasers.

Melasma is more complex, triggered by hormones and heat, and requires a gentle, long-term approach with peels, pigment-safe microneedling, and ongoing pigment control.
