The sun is finally out, and while a cute pair of shades is a summer staple, not every pair is doing its job. β˜€οΈπŸ•ΆοΈ

When you wear dark lenses without 100% UV protection, your pupils naturally dilate to let in more light.

If those lenses don't have a proper UV filter, you are actually exposing your retinas to more harmful rays than you would be without sunglasses.

Investing in 100% UV-blocking lenses is a must for helping prevent cataracts and macular degeneration down the road. Plus, if you have a prescription, getting it built right into your sunglasses is a total game-changer.

No more squinting through your regular specs or fumbling with fit-overs during your summer road trips. πŸš—πŸ’¨

Sharp vision, full protection, and effortless style. It is the ultimate summer upgrade for your eyes, stop by our eye wear department and visit our eye wear team today to make sure you can enjoy the sunshine at the fullest!

If your eyes are red and watery this June, you might be reaching for the nearest bottle of allergy drops. πŸ‘€

But before you do, it is worth checking if your ""seasonal allergies"" are actually dry eye.

Allergy symptoms are often triggered by pollen or pets and come with that signature itch.

Dry eye, on the other hand, usually feels more like a burning or scratchy sensation, and it can actually be made worse by certain over-the-counter allergy medications that can dry out your system. 🌡

One of the biggest ironies of dry eye? Your eyes might actually water more because they are trying to compensate for a lack of healthy, lubricating tears.

Stop guessing and start seeing clearly. Book your appointment today. ✨

Ever noticed a tiny "cobweb" or a floating speck that seems to dodge your gaze? πŸ•ΈοΈπŸ‘€

You are definitely not alone. Most people see floaters at some point in their lives, and they are usually just a normal part of how our eyes age.

However, there is a big difference between a stray spot and a vision emergency. While most floaters are harmless shadows, a sudden "shower" of new spots or flashes of light can mean your retina is under stress.

If you ever feel like a dark curtain is closing in on your side vision, a sudden onset of many floaters or bright flashes of light, these are a major red flag. In those cases, timing is everything. It is always better to get a professional look than to wait and see.

Make sure to save this post, so you have the checklist handy the next time a floater catches your eye.

Did you know? Vision is more than just seeing clearly!

At our clinic, we are proud to offer Vision Therapy β€” a personalized, non-surgical program designed to improve how your eyes and brain work together.

What is Vision Therapy?
Vision therapy is like physical therapy… but for your eyes! Through guided exercises and activities by our trained vision therapist, it helps strengthen visual skills such as eye tracking, focusing, coordination, and processing.

Who is it for?
Vision therapy can benefit both children and adults, including those who:
β€’ Struggle with reading or learning
β€’ Experience eye strain, headaches, or fatigue
β€’ Have difficulty with focus or attention
β€’ Notice double vision or poor depth perception
β€’ Are recovering from a concussion or brain injury

Why it matters
Even with 20/20 eyesight, underlying visual issues can impact daily life. Vision therapy addresses the root of the problem β€” not just the symptoms.

If you or your child are experiencing visual challenges, we are here to help!

Book an assessment with Dr. Shier today and take the first step toward stronger, more comfortable vision.
