CABB is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team as a Regional Veterinary Technologist – Ontario, serving the Greater Toronto Area!

This full-time, permanent hybrid role is a unique opportunity for an RVT who enjoys phlebotomy, values the human-animal bond, and wants to make a meaningful impact in veterinary medicine. ❤️

As part of the CABB team, you’ll help:
🐾 Coordinate and attend canine blood donor clinics
🩸 Perform blood collections and process blood products
🫂 Build relationships with veterinary clinics, donors & volunteers
📚 Support and educate the veterinary community in transfusion medicine
📦 Help ensure life-saving blood products reach dogs across Canada

Southern Alberta Veterinary Emergency (SAVE) permanently closed on August 29, 2026. They worked closely with a large number of rescue organizations and provided emergency care to Okotoks and surrounding areas. Their role in the community was deeply appreciated by many.

To thank the community for its support over the years and to raise money for the Alberta SPCA, SAVE held a farewell and community adoption event, Paws in the Park(ing) Lot!

They invited their rescue partners to bring adoptable animals looking for their forever homes, along with local pet-related businesses and organizations to set up booths and connect with the community.

There was also an exciting announcement made: a number of people have come forward with an interest in saving the facility, funding has been secured for a new veterinary emergency clinic in the area.

The new clinic will be operated by some of the veterinarians who previously worked at SAVE, along with some of their rescue partners and others who have chosen to invest in the new venture.

The SAVE team has been a wonderful partner to CABB, and we are incredibly grateful for the support they have provided to our organization. Wishing them all the very best in this next chapter. ❤️ SAVE Okotoks

THE GREAT CANADIAN DOG WALK IS HERE! 🐾🇨🇦

For 30 years, CABB has been helping save dogs’ lives across Canada. Now, we’re asking our pack to help us keep going. ❤️

From August 28–October 9, join animal lovers across Canada as we collectively walk from coast to coast and raise funds to save dogs’ lives!

We have two BIG goals:
🐾 Walk 6,700 km- the distance between our Halifax and Vancouver processing centres
❤️ Raise $30,000 for 30 years of CABB!

Sign up, walk your dog, track your kilometres and fundraise along the way. Every walk counts. Every dollar makes a difference.

Today, we’re remembering and celebrating a very special member of the CABB family, Gator. ❤️🐾

Gator began his journey as a canine blood donor with a simple act that would go on to make a life-saving difference. Over his time with CABB, he generously donated blood 5 times before it was time for him to retire from donating.

From his very first donation to his fifth and final one, Gator gave something incredibly special, the gift of helping dogs he would never meet. Each donation had the potential to give another family more time with their beloved companion, and that is a legacy worth celebrating.

We are so grateful to Gator and his family for the time, kindness and generosity they shared with CABB. While his time as a donor may have been only one part of his life, the impact of those 5 donations will always be part of his story.

Rest peacefully, sweet Gator. Thank you for being one of our heroes. You will always have a special place in the CABB family. ❤️🐾🌈
