A coffee. A bouquet. A simple note that says thinking of you.

When someone has lost a loved one, time keeps moving but the loss never truly disappears. Whether it has been months or many years, remembering them and checking in can mean more than you know. Small acts of care never go unnoticed.

At Alterna Cremation, we are always reminded that love and remembrance continue long after a goodbye. 💜

In 2019, Ashley Newton started Alterna Cremation with a vision to create something more honest, more transparent, and more compassionate for families navigating loss.

Today, that vision has grown into something historic.

Ashley has designed and built what is believed to be the first crematorium in Canada built by a woman, in an industry traditionally led by men.

Alterna Cremation is also proudly a women owned and women operated business, with a team of dedicated women working together to support families during some of life’s most difficult moments.

Construction of the crematorium is now complete, and we look forward to beginning operations later this month.

We are incredibly proud to be part of a moment that represents not only progress in funeral care, but a step forward for women in business and leadership. 💜
