🧡 Learning through dialogue.
This week, we had the privilege of welcoming Niigaan Sinclair to Epic Opportunities for a powerful conversation about truth and reconciliation.
Niigaan challenged us to think, reflect and deepen our understanding of the impacts of colonialism, Indigenous perspectives, and what reconciliation can mean in our everyday lives, relationships and work.
There was a lot to take in — and a lot for us to continue thinking about.
As we've shared before, we know we have work to do. Reconciliation isn't something we accomplish through one conversation, one training session or one day of recognition. It's an ongoing commitment to listening, learning and continuing to do better.
We are incredibly grateful to Niigaan for sharing his knowledge, perspectives and stories with us — and to everyone at Epic who came ready to listen and learn.
The conversation doesn't end here. 🧡

🧡 Reflect. Learn. Continue.
As we recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we acknowledge the lasting and ongoing impacts of colonialism and residential schools on Indigenous Peoples, families and communities.
At Epic Opportunities, we also recognize that we have a lot of work to do ourselves. Reconciliation is not something accomplished in a day. It is a continuous commitment, and we continue to learn about what that commitment should look like within our organization and our community.
Today, our Directors Team gathered for lunch at Manoomin Restaurant, an Indigenous-owned restaurant located inside the Wyndham Garden Winnipeg Airport, Winnipeg’s first Indigenous-owned hotel.
Supporting Indigenous-owned businesses is one small, tangible action we can take. We encourage others to discover and support Indigenous-owned businesses, organizations and experiences in our community throughout the year.
Find Indigenous-owned businesses and restaurants in Manitoba in comments!
Epic Opportunities will be closed on September 30 in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

to one of the best days at the stadium! 🏈💙💛As a big Blue Bombers fan, meeting the guys on the field is always a massive highlight, but Deatrick Nichols truly made Mike's day with this one. This is exactly what being together in the community looks like. Huge shoutout to Deatrick for taking the time to stop, chat, and snap a selfie. It’s moments like this—where players and fans connect on the same level—that show just how strong the Blue and Gold family really is. Absolute class act on and off the field!

The Mindful Minute | Hosted by Bridging the Gap...It’s a good day to talk about feelings

Each month, we’ll share an easy-to-use tool to support mindfulness, emotional wellbeing, managing stress, relationships, and communication — for staff, the people we support, and our community. It’s not about “fixing” things. It’s about building awareness, choice, and skills that can help.

Today's Tip: STOP SKILL
