Vertical platform lifts a great option, even outside in our winter. we do a prefer them nicely sheltered like in this instance. we also created a long paving stone path for the client to park beside and then use a rollater to access the entrance to the home.

straight would have been easier, but straight wouldn’t have been safer. With a certain height of stairs we need a certain length of ramping. Permenant ramping requires 1in of height to have 1ft of ramping, while for short term solutions we try to get as close to this as possible.
In this case, we really wanted to go straight but that was 10ft short. too steep to be safe.
This was to get someone out of hospital, we want to recover, not risk another injury.

multiple items used here for a short term solution for access to our clients front door.
1. threshold ramp to get over the front door threshold
2. modular ramp to get off the landing down a narrow walkway
3. rubber matting to act as a path extension.
if this was permanent we would suggest a different route but the mix of short term need and the practical cost of the project means solutions comes over design.

ok. I’m. it going to lie, that mint green is tough to match but the contrast may make this step through tub even easier to see???
getting your leg over the edge of a tub can be dangerous at the best of times, Nevermind when your wet and slippery.
this quick tub conversion can assist. installed in half a day for $1095 in most tubs. a cap is available to allow for a fully filled tub as well. great for multigenerational homes.

A call came in this week for a young boy stuck in his home after a car accident in Thompson MB. With a tight schedule already booked I decided my Saturday was free enough to head up to Thompson and get his kiddo some freedom before winter sets in.
