Children’s Eye Health Month 👀

Why children’s eye health matters:

👓 1 in 4 school-aged children may have an undiagnosed vision problem. Clear vision is important for reading, learning, coordination, sports and everyday activities.

🌟 Signs to Watch For

Parents should talk to an eye-care professional if their child:
* Frequently squints or rubs their eyes
* Holds books or screens very close
* Complains of headaches or blurry vision
* Has difficulty reading or concentrating
* Covers or closes one eye
* Tilts their head to see
* Avoids reading or other visually demanding activities

📱 Healthy Screen Habits

* Encourage children to follow the 20-20-20 rule:
* Every 20 minutes, look at something about 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
* Also encourage outdoor play and regular breaks from close-up activities.

👁️ Eye Exams Are Important

Children don't have to be able to read to have their eyes examined. A comprehensive eye exam can detect vision problems and certain eye conditions that may affect development and learning.

Give your child the best start—make eye health part of their back-to-school routine! 👓📚✏️
