This is how you guarantee an unhappy marriage:
Turn your relationship into a logistics department.
Who’s picking up the kids?
What’s for dinner?
Did you pay the bill?
Who’s taking care of this?
Why didn’t you do that?
And slowly, without even realizing it, you stop being husband and wife.
You become co-managers.
Co-parents.
Problem-solvers.
You talk all day, but barely connect.
And then one day you wonder:
“Where did the intimacy go?”
It didn’t necessarily disappear.
It got buried underneath exhaustion, responsibility, resentment, mental load, and two people who are both trying to keep everything running.
Especially after Aliyah, when there is already so much to navigate—new systems, new routines, children adapting, work, language, uncertainty, and the constant feeling that there is always something else to handle.
Your marriage doesn't always need another conversation about who is doing more.
Sometimes it needs space for the two of you to remember:
We are not just running a family.
We are building a life together.
And that requires more than getting the logistics right.
It requires connection.
Curiosity.
Presence.
Desire.
And the capacity to actually meet each other again.
Your marriage may not need fixing.
It may need room to breathe.
