What do you do when a trigger hits?
You pause.
You breathe.
You create a space between the trigger and your reaction.
Because the goal isn’t to never be triggered—it’s to stop letting the trigger take over.
Instead of going straight into fight, flight, or freeze, try this:
PAUSE → BREATHE → FEEL → CHOOSE.
Notice what’s happening in your body.
Take one conscious breath.
Ask yourself: “What do I actually need right now?”
That small pause can change everything.
Your trigger doesn’t have to control your response. You can choose.
