Reflecting on how I got here
2013 : I finish my 200hr YTT and I am gone. Fully in love, completely obsessed. Yoga changed my freakin' life.
So I did the only thing that made sense to me — I said yes to everything. I taught every class I could possibly sign up for. Four years of it. I got YACEP registered so I could start teaching workshops for CECs, because I wanted more, always more.
2017: Bali. My 300hr advanced YTT. I'd just finished my Master's in Applied Health Physiology and something in me said: lead international retreats. I had been out of the country twice in my life. Twice. I had no business making this decision by any logical measure.
I had no clue what I was doing...
But I knew. Every fiber of me knew this was the path.
So I started going. I joined yogatrade.com and applied for every single opportunity I could find. I looked up wellness retreat centers in towns I wanted to teach in, scoured their websites, dug up contact emails, and sent my resume even when they weren't hiring. Especially when they weren't hiring.
And it worked. I got hired. I taught all over the world. I built a network, I built confidence, I built proof to myself that I could actually do this and be taken seriously.
Then sound found me.
I went to a training and it transformed my life again. That same year I co-hosted a yoga + sound healing retreat in Costa Rica. I wasn't supposed to lead the sound piece — my co-host was the seasoned sound healer, that was her role. Until she backed out, and suddenly I was up to bat.
Terrified. Imposter syndrome at max volume. I did it anyway.
I never looked back after that (thank god)
I started offering sound everywhere. Building a following in my small town. Beach sound healings. Floating SUP sound healings back in 2019, before it was a thing everyone and their mom was offering. Fumbling through every bit of it because no one taught me how. There was no map. I made the map.
And now I stand at the front of the room and train Sound Practitioners myself.
Every time I do, I think about all the versions of me who had to figure it out completely alone — and I make it my job to give my students something I didn't have: a framework to actually build their passion project once they leave. Not just the transformation. The follow-through.
That's why every TEW training includes the 3-Month Business of Sound Healing Mastermind. Because the training is the beginning, not the finish line.
