Love can trigger the darkest parts of us 🖤

Intending to harm with our words- because being close to someone terrifies you of the pain you might experience again

Loving your partner and in parallel continuing the behaviors that led to the breakup of your past relationship- because you are testing whether this person can love the REAL messy you

Pushing your loved one away- to see if they will stay and love this harsh and hurt you too

Telling them to leave and find someone better- while you’re hoping and praying they stay and love you as you are

These sometimes don’t make sense.

Sometimes these dynamics break the relationship in the end because we cannot live in dysfunction forever.

Other times these become breakthroughs to incredible partnerships.

What dictated whether these will break or mend the relationship?
We think it’s our compatibility… if you are really meant for each other.. but it’s more than that

It’s the nervousystem capacity to hold stress and to expand into trust and love again.

The masterful management of your emotions.. aka being able to do what is right after an argument instead of following the destructive impulse to do something reckless.

It’s a skill. And skills can be learned.
