šŸ«¶šŸ»Sharing this for anyone in need or for others that recommend Papyrus or Hope, as I do regularly.

šŸ«¶šŸ»Very sad to see such an amazing support disappear. I will be reviewing alternatives, but in the meantime, numbers on the post for Samaritans and Shout.

Some good news from me. I did a thing!

I’m pleased to share that I’m now a BACP Accredited counsellor. It’s taken a lot of work, reflection and coffee than I’d care to admit ā˜•ļø.

Academic work doesn’t come easily to me so I’m especially proud to have got here šŸ’›

Well that was a journey! I can't pretend I found the written assignments easy. As usual, I found the practical more straightforward than the essay writing. But I got there in the end and am proud to say I am now a fully qualified Supervisor. I have a few spaces for online and face to face and offer a discount for newly qualified counsellors in the first year of their private practice.

A networking morning for me today. I started networking because I felt in a bit of a rut and I was curious to see what it was all about. Having previously worked for a large corporate firm, I wasn’t used to networking for myself and own small practice. I’m so glad I took that first step and wish I’d found it sooner. I’ve been inspired by the other small business owners I’ve met and how resourceful we all are, balancing so many things in our lives. I’ve received help with business cards, marketing, client referrals and listened to some amazing talks ( amongst others). But most of all, I’m building meaningful connections with like minded people šŸ«¶šŸ» have you found anything new and positive in 2026?

How many times do I hear ā€œthey are just attention seekingā€. Teenagers act out because they have an emotional need that is not being met. They may not know how to ask for help or even what that need is. But pay them attention. Lean in. Find a way to connect. Coffee. Shopping. A walk. Going to the gym together. Make a tik tok. Play pool or darts. Do skincare together . Watch their YouTube faves. Take a drive. Play Xbox. Watch a film. Connection doesn’t have to be big talking.

Grief. What a weird thing it is. For most people, they get to a new normal where they can function really well and the grief and trauma is a small puddle nearby rather than being a massive scary ocean they are adrift in with no obvious means of getting to the shore of safety and normalcy. Then wham bang it whacks you around the chops out of nowhere. Did that really happen? How did it happen? And then the tears flow. Like it was yesterday. Personally, I think these moments help us feel connected with those we’ve lost. They are uncomfortable and unwelcome, but very powerful connectors. Unsettling reminders of how powerfully we love. šŸ«¶šŸ»šŸ«¶šŸ»šŸ«¶šŸ»

Learning to reframe is a great skill to acquire whether you are 14, 44 or 74. It takes a conscious effort to turn our thought processes around. Give it a go. Do it for you. Believe.
