Even when the journey seems never-ending and your dreams appear distant, hold on to hope. 🌟 True bravery is not measured by the speed of your journey, but by your resilience in the face of adversity. Believe in the process, for every small step you take today matters immensely. Though trauma alters our perception of life, it does not dictate our identity. Healing is within reach, and help surrounds you. 💚

During my counseling training, I hit a point where I wanted to give up. Facing my past was tough, but then I stumbled upon this Rumi quote: “The cave you fear may hide the light you seek.” It reminded me that courage and honesty are key to growth and fulfillment. Embrace the unknown; it might just lead you to enlightenment. 🌟

Taking the first step can feel daunting, but you don’t have to face things alone. Healing doesn’t happen overnight- it begins with giving yourself permission to be supported. # counselling

It’s important to know that we can all suffer with anxiety, some more than others and for all different reason. But remember you are not alone.

I felt this was spot on for many of my clients and myself in the past. Rumination is replaying events or conversations; taking up energy, allowing your inner critic to control the narrative and remove you from being in the here and now. Reflection is a positive way to gain a new perspective and allows space for growth.

After 20 years of practicing medicine, I have learned that rumination is not the same as reflection.

A 2008 paper in Perspectives on Psychological Science synthesized decades of research on rumination. Replaying past events without resolution was strongly associated with depression, anxiety, and even worse physical health markers. The mind, given an old wound to revisit, often deepens it instead of healing it.

Memory replay is not analysis. It is residency.

You are allowed to remember without revisiting.

Your present life deserves your presence.

What memory have you been replaying? Set a five minute timer. Think it through. Then close the door, kindly, and go live today.

You don’t have to be pulled out of the dark to be helped.

Sometimes, the most healing thing
is when someone chooses to sit beside you in it.
