VOLUNTEERS WEEK 2026
This week, we celebrated our incredible volunteers at the SAVA Awards, organised by Voluntary Action South Ayrshire.

Our volunteers were recognised for 1–5 years, 5–10 years, and 10–15 years of service. We were also delighted to celebrate Betty, who received a special Lifetime Award in recognition of her outstanding 15 years of volunteering with us.

It takes more than 40 hours of volunteering every week to sustain our current activities. We are so fortunate to have such an amazing team of people who give their time, skills, and, most importantly, their care to everyone who comes through our door.

THANK YOU to all our volunteers for your commitment and support — you truly are the heartbeat of our organisation.

A huge THANK YOU and congratulations to Colin for completing this today!

Colin is a Trustee of RCT and a regular volunteer, sharing his knowledge and life experience with our team. We are humbled by him undertaking this gruelling 96 mile challenge and grateful to him for helping to raise vital funds to help us continue to serve the local community in a variety of ways.

A huge thank you to the Police Scotland Youth Volunteers who joined us to lead today’s litter pick across George Street, Elba Street, Macadam Place and Elba Gardens. Their effort and commitment made a real difference to the area 💜

Special thanks as always for giving up your time to get involved. It really doesn’t go unnoticed.

This marks the start of our spring clean-up campaign, helping to brighten up our streets and make people feel better about where they live. If you are interested in getting involved as well go send us a message and join us for next time 🤝

We are delighted to announce one of our volunteers, Colin Smith, is a man on a mission and a 96-mile journey. On the 14th April, Colin is taking on the legendary West Highland Way, trekking from Milngavie to Fort William to support the vital work of Riverside Community Trust. From the shores of Loch Lomond to the rugged peaks of the Highlands, every step he takes helps us provide essential services and support to our local community.
