You don’t have to wait until things feel unbearable to reach out for counselling. 🌿

Counselling can offer you a safe, confidential space to understand yourself better, work through what’s keeping you stuck, strengthen relationships and make meaningful changes at your own pace.

Sometimes, simply having somewhere to talk — and knowing you’ll be genuinely heard without judgement — can make a real difference.

September is Su***de Prevention Month 💚

Sometimes the hardest words to say are simply: “I’m not okay.”

This September, we want to remind everyone that talking about your mental health is not something to be ashamed of. You deserve to be heard, supported and taken seriously — today, tomorrow and every day after that.

Check in with the people around you. Listen without judgement. Make space for honest conversations. A simple “How are you, really?” can mean more than you realise.

And if you’re struggling yourself, reaching out can be an important first step. You don’t have to have the right words or know exactly what you need before asking for support.

At GCD Counselling, I believe in creating a confidential, compassionate space where you can talk openly about what you’re experiencing.

What if your emotions aren’t the problem — but are trying to tell you something? 🌿

Anger, fear, guilt, jealousy, shame and frustration can feel uncomfortable or overwhelming. But emotions can also carry information about our needs, boundaries, experiences and what matters to us.

Rather than judging or pushing difficult feelings away, counselling can offer a safe space to explore them with curiosity and compassion.

At GCD Counselling Services, support is available for children, young people and adults, with counselling and clinical hypnotherapy in Bathgate, West Lothian, and online sessions for ages 16+.

💜 20 Community Spotlights and counting! 💜

So far, we’ve introduced 20 amazing organisations who will be joining us at West Lothian Mental Health Day — and every single one of them brings something incredibly valuable to our communities.

We’re genuinely delighted to have such a fantastic mix of services attending, offering support, advice, information, recovery services, counselling, practical help, education and so much more.

The work these organisations do every day is so important, and we’re really proud to be able to shine a light on them and help people discover the support that’s available across West Lothian. 🌿

A huge thank you to all 20 organisations for getting involved and for everything you do to support local people. 💚💜

✨ And there are still many more to come…

👀 Watch out for Community Spotlight #21!
