With temperatures forecast to reach around 26ยฐC Soft Steps is the perfect place to escape the hottest part of the day.

While it's important for little ones to enjoy fresh air, the middle of the day can be a lot for babies and young children. At Soft Steps you'll find a comfortable environment where children can play, explore and burn off energy while staying out of the strongest sunshine.

Tomorrow's sessions:

A relaxed setting for grown-ups, meaningful play for little ones, and no worrying about finding shade or keeping everyone cool.

Timings for the Gala Day:

๐ŸŽ‰ 9:30am โ€“ Meet at Soft Steps and walk together to Whitburn Academy CDT for the fancy dress judging.

๐ŸŽ‰ 10:00am โ€“ Fancy dress judging begins.

๐ŸŽ‰ We have been advised by the organisers to meet at the back of Whitburn Academy at 10:15am so that groups can be organised into their parade positions.

I have ordered a Soft Steps banner but if that fails to arrive in time just look for the inflatable unicorn!

The parade will finish at King George's Park, where families can then enjoy the rest of Gala Day in whatever way suits them best, whether that's watching the proclamation, visiting the funfair, enjoying the inflatables or heading home.

As a small thank you to the families who have offered to walk with Soft Steps in the Gala Day parade, each child taking part will receive a discount code for one free Soft Steps visit, valid until 9th August 2026 - please come and see me for this before the parade leaves.

The 11am session is almost full, and we're looking forward to another morning of glowing lights, sensory play and little imaginations at work ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒˆ

Whether they're driving a truck through a glowing world, exploring sensory resources or simply enjoying familiar play in a different light, Glow Explore offers children the chance to follow their curiosity and play at a pace that suits them.

Parents often tell us how much they enjoy the relaxed atmosphere too โ€“ a chance to slow down, enjoy a coffee and meet other parents in a small setting.
