September is World Alzheimer’s Month.

Did you know that hearing and memory are more connected than many people realise?

As hearing becomes more difficult, it can put extra strain on our brains. People can also withdraw from the kinds of interactions that keep the brain busy.

Research indicates that hearing loss can sometimes be a risk factor for dementia. It's not yet clear if using hearing aids can prevent dementia, but there is some evidence suggesting it may slow cognitive decline in people at risk of developing it.
