It’s the little details that matter.

As Funeral Directors, we believe every person is unique and they have their own tastes, passions and memories. We believe their funeral should reflect that.

From our very first meeting with a family, we listen carefully to what they tell us. We take the time to understand the person behind the arrangements and consider the finer details that made them who they were.

For this gentleman, fishing was a real passion. So when we designed his Order of Service, we incorporated that love of fishing throughout — even using an image of his favourite fishing spot as the background. A small detail, perhaps, but one with a very personal meaning.

Every Order of Service we provide is created in-house by us, working closely with the family. We don't simply choose a template and farm it out to a printer. We personally design each one so that photographs, colours, hobbies, interests and meaningful places can all come together to create something truly individual.

Because saying goodbye isn't about following a template.

It's about remembering the person.

And sometimes, it's the little details that matter most.

☀️ Caring for your loved ones, whatever the weather

We don’t need to tell you how hot it’s been.

With periods of extreme heat becoming increasingly common, families may understandably wonder what happens when someone passes away during a heatwave — and whether the hot weather affects funeral arrangements or visiting a loved one in our chapel of rest.

At Greenhills Funeral Service, we’re fully prepared.

We have a large, dedicated storage facility, allowing us to care for those entrusted to us properly and respectfully, even during prolonged periods of very hot weather.

Our chapels of rest are also fully air-conditioned, which means families can continue to visit and spend precious time with their loved one in a comfortable, peaceful environment.

And yes — funerals can still take place during a heatwave.

Being a local, independent funeral director means taking responsibility for the people in our care and being prepared for whatever circumstances arise. Behind the scenes, we make sure our facilities, equipment and arrangements are ready so that families have one less thing to worry about.

Whatever the temperature outside, our commitment remains the same:

Dignity, respect and the highest standard of care for every person entrusted to us.

If you ever have questions about any aspect of arranging a funeral, please don’t hesitate to speak to our team.

A message from Greenhills Funeral Directors

In light of the deeply upsetting recent news concerning former Hull funeral director Robert Bush, we know that some families may understandably have questions about the funeral profession and, most importantly, about the care and dignity afforded to their loved ones.

At Greenhills Funeral Directors, trust is at the heart of everything we do.

When a family places someone they love into our care, we understand the enormous responsibility that comes with that. Behind every funeral is a person who was deeply loved, and a family trusting us to treat them with dignity, compassion and respect.

That is a responsibility we never take for granted.

We also believe that trust comes from being open and transparent about what we do. Our doors are always open to anyone who would like to come in, have a cup of tea and a chat, ask questions, or simply understand more about how we operate and how we care for people entrusted to us.

You do not need to be arranging a funeral to come and speak to us.

If recent events have left you with questions or concerns about what happens when somebody comes into the care of a funeral director, please feel welcome to visit us. We are happy to explain our procedures, talk you through the care we provide and answer any questions you may have.

We believe families should feel comfortable asking questions and should know exactly who is caring for their loved one and how they will be looked after.

Our commitment to our community remains the same: to provide compassionate, professional and dignified care, and to treat every person entrusted to us with the respect we would expect for a member of our own family.

Our door is always open. If you'd like to talk, please come in and see us.

Did you spot this advert in the Express & Star last weekend? 👀

At Greenhills Funeral Directors, we have three local branches and one simple belief: no two funerals should ever be the same. Our advert highlights that every funeral we arrange is tailored to your wishes and your family, and also your budget – because saying goodbye is a personal thing, not something that should come "off the shelf."

Whether you are planning ahead or arranging a funeral for a loved one, our caring team is here to guide you every step of the way. We'll create a service that truly reflects the life being celebrated.

📍 Visit us at any of our three local branches and find out how we can help when it matters most.

Because every life is unique, every farewell should be too.

Community is at the heart of everything we do as a business. Funeral Directors are traditionally a mainstay of the local community and we want to play our part.

At Greenhills Funeral Directors, we're privileged to support families at the end of life's journey but we also believe in making a difference while people are here.

That's why we were proud to partner with Gospel Oak School to create and distribute gift boxes for members of our local community who needed a little extra support. Seeing everyone come together to spread kindness was truly heartwarming.

But we don't want to stop there.

We're continuing to put together care packs, particularly for children, and we'd love your help. If you'd like to donate new toys, books, colouring sets, toiletries, snacks or other suitable items, please pop them into any of our three West Midlands branches. Every donation, no matter how big or small, can brighten someone's day.

Together, we can make a real difference.
