So much more than a fundraising page, it becomes a memory book - a place to remember, reflect and celebrate your loved one - we offer to create a “Much loved” tribute page for all our families in memory of their special someone - offering everyone the chance to not only raise funds for their chosen charity but share memories, photos or maybe simply like a candle in their memory 🤍🤍###

Thank you to everyone who has created an online tribute fund for Birmingham Hospice in memory of a loved one. 💙

Grief can feel overwhelming at times, and for many families, having a dedicated tribute page provides a comforting space to remember and celebrate someone special.

Long after the funeral, families and friends often return to their MuchLoved tribute pages to share memories, post photos, light virtual candles, mark birthdays and anniversaries, and make donations in their loved one's honour.

More than a fundraising page, it becomes an online memory book. A place to reflect, remember, and celebrate a life whenever you wish.

As one of our supporters says: “I will continue to raise funds and use my page as a constant source of love and support in my continued fight against the grief of losing my wife.”

Have you heard of 'growing around grief'? 🌱

We're often told there's a set timeline for grief. The growing around grief model challenges this idea.

This view of grief doesn't tell you that your grief will go away in time. Instead, it acknowledges there will be some days where you will feel your grief strongly, and others when you're able to move forward with other parts of your life.

It shows that we can grow a new life which includes our grief 💜

A Funeral Is so Much More Than a Farewell - “thank you so much for taking the time to read my thoughts”

In recent years, direct unattended cremations have become more widely available, sometimes followed by a celebration of life at a later date.

For some families, this may feel like the right choice — but it is worth considering what a traditional funeral can offer that a later celebration may not.

For many people, a traditional funeral service can bring a sense of reality, meaning and finality that can be difficult to recreate at a celebration held after the cremation has already taken place.

A celebration of life can be a wonderful way to remember someone, but celebrating a life and saying goodbye are not necessarily the same thing.
A traditional funeral allows time for both.

It can provide:
❤️ A meaningful and personal goodbye🌹 The opportunity to honour the person before their cremation or burial🕊️ A dedicated moment for reflection and remembrance🎵 Personal music, readings and tributes💭 A sense of ceremony and acknowledgement at an important moment🌿 A lasting memory of having given someone a fitting farewell

Cost is understandably an important consideration for many families. But a traditional funeral does not have to be elaborate or extravagant. A good funeral director can help create a personal and dignified farewell that respects both your wishes and your budget.

An unattended cremation followed by a celebration later may suit some people. But before making that decision, it is worth asking:
Will a celebration afterwards give us the same opportunity to truly say goodbye?

There is no single right way to remember someone. But there is something uniquely meaningful about marking their death, honouring their life and saying goodbye at the time of their funeral.

Celebrating a life is so very important — but so is saying goodbye. 🤍🤍 xx
