A huge thank you to Suzie and her wonderful therapy dog, Bilbo, for spending time with our residents today. 🐾💙

Visits from therapy animals bring so much joy, comfort, and companionship. For people living with dementia, interactions with animals can help spark memories, encourage communication, reduce anxiety, and create meaningful moments of connection.

Bilbo’s gentle nature and friendly presence brought plenty of smiles, laughter, and cuddles throughout the day. We are so grateful to Suzie and Bilbo for sharing their time with us and making such a positive difference to our residents’ wellbeing.

We can’t wait to welcome you both back again soon! 🐶✨

⭐️💛Today we say thank you and farewell to our wonderful minibus driver Martin as he heads into retirement after 7 fantastic years with us at Metchley Manor. 🚌✨

Over the years, Marin has safely taken our residents on countless trips, outings and adventures, always with a smile, a dry joke at the ready, and a brilliant sense of humour that has kept both residents and team members laughing along the way.

He has been such a valued part of life at Metchley Manor and will be so greatly missed by everyone here.

Thank you for all the memories, kindness, laughs and dedication over the years. We wish you a very happy, well deserved retirement filled with relaxation, happiness and plenty more adventures of your own. 💙🚌🤩🏡💜

🌙🕌Eid Mubarak!!!🕌🌙

Today we had the great privilege of making one of our residents Dr Kiwan’s wishes come true by accompanying him to the mosque. It was a deeply special spiritual experience that brought him comfort, happiness, and a wonderful sense of community and belonging.

Dr Kiwan was able to reconnect with his faith and spend time in a familiar and welcoming environment which had a positive impact on his personal wellbeing, reminding us all how important dignity, choice and connection are.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to our Senior Care Assistant Ahmed. Your kindness and understanding in supporting our resident to attend the Mosque and celebrate Eid Al Adha, as he did before moving to Metchley Manor, meant a great deal to him and his family.

A massive thank you to Chef Abs who curated a beautiful Eid Menu comprised of:
🍲Chicken Lentil Soup or a Variety Borerk with Yoghurt,
🍗Lamb with Couscous in Tomato with French Beans, Courgette and Chickpeas, or
🥘Aloo Gobi, Cauliflower and Potato Curry served with Pilau Rice and Naan Bread
🍮Sheer Khurma, or
🍰A selection of Traditional Eid Mini Desserts

Dr Kiwan expressed ‘the multicultural atmosphere at Metchley Manor is special and uplifting’, he also added ‘it was very nice for me to attend Eid Al Adha prayers with Ahmed and Abs, the atmosphere at the Mosque was so special’

Moments like these are at the heart of what we do, supporting our residents to continue fulfilling their lives with experiences that matter most to them!! The compassion, respect for individual beliefs and dedication to person-centred care truly reflect the values we strive to uphold!!🤲🥰💜
