Gates Primary School

The Gates Primary School in Westhoughton is a school with a strong local focus. At its core, the school places a strong emphasis on being an inclusive and welcoming community, often described as having a “family feel.” Mr Doherty, the school’s Headteacher said that the school wanted to become a Manbassador to support both staff and parents.

Introducing Manbassador number 107: Be One Homes

Be One Homes - the Bolton-based housing association which delivers the Manbassadors project across Bolton - has now officially become a Manbassador organisation itself.

As one of the North West's major housing providers and a well-recognised employer within the region, Be One Homes' commitment to the Manbassadors project means that men - whether colleagues or customers - will now be able to find a listening ear and friendly signposts to further support and activities at Be One Homes' offices, UCAN centres*, and other community hubs.

Su***de remains the biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK, and it's great to see Be One Homes pledge its support as a Manbassador organisation to ensure no one faces challenges alone.

Noel Sharpe, Chief Executive of Be One Homes said: "We have been delivering the Bolton Manbassador project for a while now as we recognise the importance of addressing the issues around poor mental health in men within our community and we wanted do something to support our customers to address those issues. As an employer in the town, we also recognise that it's really important to support our male colleagues who may be suffering with poor mental health, too."

*You can find your nearest UCAN centre on our website: www.beonehomes.com/ucan. You can pop in for help with your health and wellbeing (including through the Manbassadors project), support with money, personalised guidance into work and/or training, free Wi-Fi, and more.

Mental Health Awareness Week kept the Bolton Manbassadors team busy in all the best ways.

We were out across the town attending local mental health events, connecting with fantastic partners, speaking directly with Bolton residents and leading Walk & Talk sessions in some of our beautiful green spaces.

Men’s mental health matters, and we’re proud to be taking real action right here in Bolton.
