This Friday I celebrate ten years in business. After doing a little video this week I have had some truly wonderful comments from clients I worked with in the beginning and recently.

I thought I'd share them. 🥰

My work is diverse, solution focused and I aim too make difficult times for clients easier by offering a safe, colourful space to just Be.

From children aged 6 with fears of leaving their mum too 86 years olds with health anxiety about operations, fears, phobias, getting to school, going on holiday, breakdowns, exhaustion, long covid, ADHD, autism, sensory processing, Childrens' anxiety there isn't much i haven't worked with. I have enjoyed everyone of them!

This week after posting about my business birthday I have received some wonderful messages and comments from current and previous clients over this time.

I thought I would share some of them keeping within my confidentiality code just so others can see who and what I have supported.

As a therapist many people assume we have got it all worked out…

🤦‍♀️😆 Far from it!!

Many times we are running the same negative patterns and processes as the clients we see. We just know why and how to implement things that help. ( most of the time)

I run with a million tabs open most days, my brain can be very noisy and at times really mean. 😢

But, there are things I have put in place to help my brain space so I thought I’d share.

✨ Move!! Exercise saved my life, no joke. Strength training literally makes me feel stronger mentally.

✨ Eat.. it’s easy to forget this when stress runs the show.

✨ Water… stay hydrated and try and remember 😆

✨ See people and talk. Talk rubbish, laugh, connect on some level. We’re not meant to be or feel on our own.

✨ Remember everything you do… every little thing. I guarantee you do more than you think, but still feel it’s not enough.

I had a moment this morning and the brain noise was loud.. beating myself up for the things I had forgotten, getting lost in feelings that are not helpful, rolled out my workout mat had a dance then hit the weights.

Ten minutes later I sat and thought wow… look at what you do! Despite everything that’s tried too kick my ass I still dust off and carry on, it isn’t easy but YOU deserve it!!!! 💖

You are not your thoughts, feelings come and go, make your mind a nice place to live, because no one else can do that for you, it’s an inside job 🪩🙌🏻

✨ School avoidance and school based anxiety is at an all time high.

With anxiety around environments, situations and learning spaces, behaviour changes often follow.

Trying to learn when your brain and body is in its fight or flight system is impossible. Fear and anxiety set in and now that space is scary.

✨ Beginning to notice the day to day maybe mundane, ordinary things are actually the foundation that allows you to build on further.

Mental health becomes affected with irregular sleep, negative thinking, lack of movement, dysregulated nervous system, unhealthy environments, junk food.

The basic foundation is not always the first place we think about but it’s the quickest place to start.

Daily treasure hunting for nice things.. wire the brain 🧠 to find more. Tell it what you want not what you don’t want.

Today’s chat about the last term of exams and some hints and tips to help through them.

1. Revise in different places.

2. Write, record and listen to notes. Using all senses can help to retain information.

3. Take regular breaks depending on how much you’re able to stay focused. 25/30 minutes learning and ten minute breaks taken somewhere different. A timer can be helpful.

4. Stay hydrated and eat well. Exam stress can make you feel more fatigued so support yourself better during this time.

5. Set aside time for fun. All work and no play can be boring. Move your body, do the club, listen to music, all help to process information and support your brain during a more difficult time.

🌺 Taking a little wander around the garden today not realising this beautiful flower just doing its thing.

To be honest I’m not a garden gal, with life changing and just getting my head down with the business and children I just left it to do its thing.

The lesson, it still bloomed anyway and has bought me an incredible amount of joy with it thus morning too.

Nothing has to be perfect, things can be left and still grow and if you don’t go and wander around a bit you’ll never find the surprises 💖
