🏃♂️ Cupping therapy this evening.
A general MOT for tonight’s patient, targeting areas of muscular tightness and restriction — with some pretty solid cupping marks to finish the session. 👀
But what does cupping actually do?
Cupping uses negative pressure to lift the skin and superficial tissues. It can be used alongside hands-on treatment to help reduce the sensation of muscular tightness, improve local circulation and promote relaxation of the treated area.
Those darker circular marks? 🟣
They’re a temporary response to the suction, caused by increased blood flow and minor changes within the small blood vessels close to the skin. The intensity can vary significantly from person to person.
Cupping is one tool in the toolbox — used alongside assessment, soft-tissue work, mobility and exercise to support recovery and movement.
