Being a mum doesn’t come with a manual… and it certainly doesn’t get easier just because they grow up.

If anything, it shifts.

Especially when there’s a big age gap.

Two adults, living their own lives, a couple of hours apart… each walking their own path, making their own choices, carrying that same stubborn streak I know all too well.

Funny how life does that.

You start to notice the patterns.The echoes.The way history quietly repeats itself, just with different faces and timelines.

And here’s what’s been landing for me…

The younger one stepping into more responsibility sooner.The older one holding their ground in their own way.And me, somewhere in the middle, recognising bits of myself in both.

Motherhood doesn’t stop.It evolves.

It asks you to let go… while still being there. To trust… even when you want to step in. To watch… without trying to rewrite their story.

It’s not always easy.

But it is real.And it is ours.

Let’s be honest…

A lot of what’s out there isn’t really about helping you.It’s about leading you somewhere.

A programme.A package.The next step.

And you can feel it.

Even when it’s subtle.

That slight shift in the conversation where it stops being about you and starts being about where you could go next.

I’ve stepped away from all of that.

No readings.No therapy sessions.Nothing waiting at the end of the call.

Just 30 minutes of real conversation.

No angle.No outcome I need.No quiet steering.

Which means you get to show up exactly as you are without wondering what this is really about.

And in that space…

People tend to say what they’ve been avoiding.See what they’ve been missing.Feel what they’ve been pushing down.

Not because I’ve “done” anything.

But because, for once,there’s nothing being asked of them in return.

No transaction.

Just truth.

And that’s rarer than it should be.

There have been a few quiet moments this week… the kind that catch you off guard.

Happy tears.

After the webinar with Janine Lingenfelder, the messages started landing. Kind words. Honest reflections. People sharing what shifted for them in that space.Not noise… real impact.

Then YouTube started doing its thing — more impressions, more likes — but what’s stayed with me isn’t the numbers. It’s the feeling behind them. The knowing that something landed where it needed to.

And alongside that…“You’ll be missed.”From spaces I’ve chosen to step away from.

That one’s held a different kind of weight.

Because it’s easy to question yourself when you change direction. To wonder if you’re walking away from something you “should” hold onto.But this week has gently shown me… you don’t lose connection by being true to yourself. You deepen it.

So yes, there have been tears.Not from sadness.From recognition.

Of what’s been built.Of what’s still unfolding.And of the quiet courage it takes to trust the shift.

It matters more than you probably realise.
