What a cracking day all round for The Dicky Tickers away day at Slimbridge Wetland Centre today! 🙌

The weather played ball and the wildlife absolutely put on a show for us—we saw some truly amazing birds and habitats. 🌾✨

A massive shout out and thank you to Ian Thomas from the Gwent Wildlife Trust for joining us today 🦅

I think it’s safe to say everyone had a fantastic time. Massive thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a brilliant day out.

🌿 Ein Llais Nature Walk – Join Us! 🌿

We’re excited to invite you to our next Ein Llais walk, and this time we have something extra special planned!

We’ll be joined by Ian Thomas from Gwent Wildlife Trust, so it’s sure to be a fun, informative, and knowledge-filled session 🌱🦉

📍 Location: Talybont-on-Usk (Henderson Hall Village Hub, Penpentre, Brecon LD3 7YQ)

🕚 Time: 11:00am

We’ll be heading up along the canal and walking to the Osprey nest viewing point — and there’s already some exciting news as the second osprey chick has hatched! 🐣✨

It’s a great opportunity to enjoy nature, learn something new, and spend time outdoors together 🌿

🚶‍♂️🌧️ DICKY TICKERS 🌧️🚶‍♀️

​A little bit of damp weather couldn't dampen our spirits this morning! The Dicky Tickers took to the beautiful canal paths at Goytre Wharf, and despite having to dodge a few showers, we had an absolute blast.

Today was extra special for two reasons:

1️⃣ We were thrilled to welcome Lynda on her very first walk with us! It was wonderful to have you along, Lynda—here’s too many more!

2️⃣ We made a delightful new feathered friend—a very friendly little Robin who decided to join us for a bit of the journey. 🐦

​A great morning all round, made even better by wrapping it up the best way we know how: dry, warm, and catching up over a well-earned cuppa at the café. ☕🍰

🌱 Caerphilly Nature Wellbeing Raised Beds | Vicarage Allotment, Ystrad Mynach 🌱

​Everything is starting to grow so nicely with this lovely weather we've been having! ☀️✨

​We spent a brilliant few hours at the allotment this afternoon getting stuck into some planting. Here’s what we got up to today:

​🥕 Carrots are officially planted out!
​🌿 Added some fresh Mint and Peppers to new pots.

​🍅 Moved the Tomatoes into their new grow bags to give them room to thrive.

​It’s so rewarding to see the hard work paying off and the site coming to life. Huge thanks to everyone involved today—there is nothing quite like a productive afternoon in the sunshine for a bit of wellbeing! 💚

🌿 Update: Today’s Walk Cancelled 🌿

Due to the hot weather, this morning’s walk has been cancelled. Your safety is the most important thing, so we feel this is the right decision.

We’ll be back in two weeks’ time—hopefully with much cooler weather! Stay safe and take care everyone 💚
