The one-pot Snickers Snack Attack with 20g+ of protein that has my nutrition client obsessed 👀🍫🥜👇🏻.

I can confirm this balance snack tastes unreal and because it has over 20g+ of protein, it’ll actually keep you full for longer than 20 minutes! 🫡

What do you need?
For the base:
- 20g chocolate protein powder
- 5g cacao powder
- 80–90ml water
- 4 chopped dates
- A handful of chopped peanuts
- Peanut butter

For the topping:
🍫 2–3 squares of dark chocolate
🥜 The remaining chopped peanuts
🥜 A drizzle of peanut butter
🧂 A little sea salt

What do you need to do?
1. Grab your cutest little pot of choice.
2. Add your dry ingredients (chocolate protein powder and cacao powder) then slowly add your water and mix until you have a thick, smooth, chocolatey paste.
3. Fold through your caramel layer (chop dates), crushed peanuts and peanut butter.
4. You can put it in the freezer here to set for 30 minutes but if you don’t have time, no stress just move onto the nex step.
5. Melt your dark chocolate squares and drizzle over the top. Add your remaining peanuts, another drizzle of peanut butter and a little sprinkle of sea salt.
6. Pop it in the freezer for at least 2 hour.
7. Get those muscles out and crack in!!
8. Follow .kelly__ for plenty more balanced recipes.

Enjoy chocolatey, peanut buttery, protein-packed pot of goodness 🤝🏼

And a note that of course, not everything needs to be protein-rich, and sometimes you simply just want to have a snickers itself. Which is perfect ☺️! Roger that .kelly__ 🫡👇🏻?

After over a decade of asking for help, having my beliefs challenged , experiencing seasons where I’ve genuinely been at complete rock bottom 🧠, and equally seasons where I’ve been incredibly content, I can confidently say that one of the best perspective shifts I’ve had throughout these years so far has been recognising the importance of being 👉🏻proactive rather than reactive, when it comes to my health habits.

And while, of course, that’s not always possible, building the self-awareness muscle and taking action for your future self, even when things are already going well, is one of the most self-compassionate things you can do 🥹.

Trust me!

So let this be your little reminder that things don’t need to be “bad enough” before you start taking action. Keep nourishing those solid foundations 🚶🏻‍♀️🍱! Roger that 👀? Saoirse Kelly | Nutritionist

Turns out the ‘boring’ life lessons can literally save your life, and sometimes we just need a reminder to come back to the simple things! And that’s your food for thought from me today, team .kelly__ 🤍🧠!

All 7 live in my head rent-free and are the perspective shifts that have, and continue to, support me in taking pauses and consistently continue to move forward! 📈🏃‍♀️🧠🥣. Whether that’s with my nutrition habits, training, or the natural wobbles that life throws at us.

Which one are you taking with you? Or, any to add? 👀👇🏻

I used to think I just couldn’t eat before exercise first thing but reaallly, I just hadn’t figured out:

1. What to eat
2. When to eat
3. And I hadn’t given my body enough time to adapt!

So let’s set you up for success 👉🏻If we have 60–90 minutes before our session, we’re generally looking for easy-to-digest carbs that can give us accessible energy without sitting heavily in our stomach.

For example:
🥯 Crumpets/bagel with jam
🍯 Rice cakes with maple syrup
🥣 Squares bars are great.

You can pair these with a little protein/fat, like peanut butter or cheese, but the closer you get to your session, the more mindful you’ll want to be as these can take longer to digest.

And if you’re someone who wakes up and heads straight out the door (15-30mins to spare), repeat after me:
You CAN train your gut to eat before training!!

Just like you trained your body to build up to that 5K or your recent deadlift, you can gradually teach your gut to tolerate food before exercise too.

So we can focus on things like:
🍊Fruit juice
🍬 Jelly sweets
👀Your mate’s dates/dried mango

It’ll take a little trial and error, but you can teach your body to tolerate food before exercise.

Save this for your next early morning training session, follow .kelly__ for plenty more fuelling support, and I’d love to hear, what’s your go-to pre-fuel of choice 👇🏻🏋🏼🏃‍♀️?

The nutrition basics work, team!! There truly is nothing like a balanced sammy + supportive snack attacks to help you tick off all of your lunch nutritional boxes. 🥪

That being:
🥖 Carbs - for energy + fuelling our lovely noggin and muscles
💪 Protein - to keep you satisfied, whilst supporting growth, maintenance + repair of those muscles
🥑 Nourishing fats - for hormone health + helping us absorb vitamins
🍅 Fibre - for healthy digestion + helping keep us even more satisfied
🍫 Fun - for the soul!!

Simple + effective!!

And to really scratch that little itch in your brain, I recommend putting them into a bento box! There’s just something about a compartmentalised lunch that hits differently?! 🧠👀😅

These gems are from Smash’s “Back to School” range, found on their Amazon storefront.

Have a great week ahead, everyone 😁.

A gentle reminder to let yourself ride the waves of grief, no matter how long it’s been. 🤍

I used to think grief came in one big wave. You felt it, worked through it, and eventually it would pass.

But over the years, my perspective has shifted. 🧠

I’ve learnt that the waves come and go. Sometimes they’re heavy and timely. For example around birthdays, anniversaries, special occasions or places that hold memories.

And sometimes they’re completely random! Like seeing a blanket (my grandad had the one I mentioned in the back seat of his car. 🚗 🥹. Which I got into most days after school as a little girl).
Or it could be that you hear a song in a shop, a smell, or a random sign. Something you see that instantly reminds you of them out of nowhere.

And both are okay.

You don’t have to question why you’re feeling it again. You don’t have to tell yourself you should be “over it” by now.

Sometimes the wave comes, and the most self-compassionate thing you can do is let yourself feel the feels, ride it out, and trust that it will pass. 🫂

5 things I think are actually worth spending your money on from a nutritionist & mindset coach 🧠🌮👇🏼

Because we know I’m all for making your habits easier, more enjoyable and something you actually want to stick to. And I can confirm, all 5 of these have done exactly that for me 🤩✅.

1. Of course, the emotional support water bottle!
- The 2:1 drinking options are elite. The straw means I can mindlessly sip away throughout the day, while the slurpy cup is an absolute weapon for the morning glug.

2. Creatine 🧠🏋🏼
- One of my daily non-negotiables. And repeat after me: you do NOT have to be going to the gym 7 days a week to take it 👀!

3. A FUN AirPods case 🎧
- It makes me smile every time I pick them up AND means I’m approximately 472% less likely to lose them. Worth every penny.

4. The stunning 🌞
- Technically, free. But I think it’s one of the most underrated things we can spend our time on. A bit of sunlight, fresh air and a change of environment can make such a difference to my mood, mental clarity and productivity 💻.

5. Surprise, surprise peanut 🥜 butter!
Unless you’re allergic (sending you love for your loss). Adding peanut butter to pretty much anything makes me 10x more excited about making a nourishing meal!

It always comes back to the simple things, team! What are some of your our recommendation? Hit me 👇🏻

“If it’s not made from scratch, I’m clearly not valuing my health?” - was a belief I used to hold 👀

But one of the biggest perspective shifts I’ve had in my own nutrition to support consistency is learning to work with my lifestyle, rather than against it. ⏱️💻🌯.

Because the reality is, life looks different day to day. Some days you’ll have plenty of time to cook from scratch. Other days, the best thing you can do is grab a ready meal or rely on a few convenience foods ✅

And that’s not “lazy”, “wrong” or taking the easy way out! Rather, having the ability to lean into that flexible mindset 🧠 and take imperfect action is one of the healthiest things you can do to support long-term change!

Roger that 👀?

And you’re in the right place for sustainable habit support so be sure to drop a follow .kelly__ for plenty more to come!
