Our woodwork session at Day Opportunities South Cambridgeshire has been a fantastic new addition to the timetable since launching in July – after being requested by our customers! 🪵🛠️

Sam, Stacey and Ben have been busy creating their own unique photo frames while developing a range of practical skills, including fine motor skills, measuring, sanding and exploring different wood textures.

Stacey has chosen a special family photo for her frame, while Sam picked a picture of himself in his favourite Formula 1 car! 🏎️ Ben is still hard at work creating his frame, and we can't wait to see the finished result. 😊

It's wonderful to see our customers shaping sessions around their interests while building confidence and learning new skills along the way.

🎉 Basildon Day Opportunities BBQ celebration🎉

Basildon Day Opportunities recently held a BBQ day to show our appreciation and gratitude for the continued fundraising efforts and incredible support from PCS Legal.

The day was filled with fun, laughter and friendly competition, with PCS staff and customers joining together in four teams to take part in a variety of games. Everyone enjoyed coming together for delicious food, refreshing drinks and a well-deserved ice cream treat! 🍦

💻✨ Building confidence through technology! ✨💻

Customers at Basildon Day Opportunities have been developing their digital skills during our IT sessions. From working on computer projects and exploring different programmes to taking part in fun maths and spelling games, every session is designed to build confidence while learning.

These activities help improve numeracy, literacy, memory, and problem-solving skills, while encouraging independence in a fun, friendly, and supportive environment. It's fantastic to see everyone growing in confidence and enjoying learning new skills every week! 😊

The Cambridge Day Opportunities tuck shop has officially opened – and it's already proving to be a huge success! 🎉

This is a brand-new session introduced this term after customers had been asking for a tuck shop. They're thrilled to finally see it up and running! 😊

Run entirely by our customers during break times, the tuck shop helps build valuable life and work skills. From researching prices and comparing supermarkets to keep costs low, to serving customers, monitoring stock levels, cashing up, and using an app to track income and restocking needs, they're involved in every step of the process.

And with plenty of healthy options available, it's a great way to encourage positive choices while developing confidence, teamwork and independence. 💜

Our Sawston Day Opportunities customers enjoyed a fantastic Sip and Paint session last week! 🎨🌸

Instead of wine, they raised a glass of lemonade and Pepsi Max while creating beautiful paintings inspired by a stunning pastel-coloured bouquet. The session encouraged everyone to explore different colours and textures, get creative, and most importantly, have lots of fun together.

It was a lovely opportunity for gentle socialising, building confidence, and celebrating everyone's artistic talents. Best of all, each customer took home their own unique masterpiece! 😊💐

🍦It’s National Vanilla Ice Cream week and our customers at Ipswich Day Opportunities were more than happy to celebrate.

Thanks to funds raised by our amazing supporters, everyone enjoyed a delicious vanilla ice cream treat, including a dairy-free option, with plenty of sauces and sprinkles to choose from.

A simple activity that brought lots of smiles, laughter and a chance to cool down together on a warm day. Thank you to everyone who helps make moments like these possible! 💙
