Volunteers’ Week gives us the perfect opportunity to shine a light on the people who give their time, energy, and compassion to support our services. Each of our volunteers brings something unique, and together they make an extraordinary difference to both our staff and our customers. Our Basildon Day Opportunities held a celebration in honour of our four amazing volunteers with thank you cards, homemade cake, and certificates.
Val previously worked as an Activity Co ordinator at Day Opportunities Basildon, and now she brings that wealth of experience into her volunteering. She is a truly valued member of our team, offering support across a wide range of activities. The moment Val walks into a room; our customers light up, their joy and excitement say everything about the impact she has.
Pam volunteers two days a week at Day Opportunities Basildon, and we honestly can’t get enough of her enthusiasm. She supports all activities with an open mind and a willingness to try anything new. Pam’s positivity is infectious. She is always smiling, always helpful, and always ready to lend a hand wherever she’s needed.
James volunteers in our woodwork room, but his support goes far beyond that. He offers dedicated 1:1 time with customers, helping them learn new skills, build confidence, and create beautiful items they can be proud of. Watching James take a customer’s idea and help turn it into something real is truly inspiring.
Adrian supports both our woodwork room and our garden, bringing skill, dedication, and a keen eye for detail. He always strives for perfection and approaches every session with enthusiasm and energy. After more than nine years with Papworth Trust, Adrian continues to be a fantastic help and a much loved part of our team.
A huge thank you to our volunteers are incredibly special to us and they make a real difference every single day.
