I’ve been loving the motherhood so much ever since my little Alex was born. However, this last couple of weeks, postpartum hit me hard. Today felt heavy.
So I decided I needed a few hours to simply be me. I left Alex with his daddy at home. I wandered around the shops, went to the cafe for lunch, I treated myself to a matcha, walked for miles in the sunshine, and ended up sitting under a tree with my journal.
Nothing extraordinary happened, but somehow it was exactly what I needed.
Sometimes, the best thing we can do is give ourselves permission to step away for a moment, breathe, and remember who we are beyond the beautiful role of motherhood.
I came home feeling lighter and more peaceful.
