Debbie Routly Hypnotherapy Hypnotherapy helping you to change the way you think, feel and behave and make positive changes

Hypnotherapy can help you change the way you think, feel and behave enabling you to alter the way you live your life for the better. Having experienced hypnotherapy myself, I know the positive impact it can have on someone's life. It was this that inspired me to train as a hypnotherapist and enables me to help others feel the benefits. I like to provide a relaxed and safe place for my clients to achieve their full potential, using therapy techniques tailored to their specific needs. We all need help from time to time in regaining control over our lives, hypnotherapy can help you do this by helping to change the way you think, feel and behave and therefore take back control. I believe we all have the resources within us needed to live a happy and fulfilling life and hypnotherapy can help us access these resources. All you need is to be motivated and willing to make positive changes to your life. I am not a magic wand but together we can develop those inner resources; therefore overcoming the issues and challenges you are facing. Previous to becoming a hypnotherapist I worked in my local primary school for eighteen years. During this time I worked with hundreds of children helping them to learn new things and make positive changes in their lives. These skills are so easily transferred to hypnotherapy which also helps people to learn new ways of thinking, making positive changes to their lives. In 2018, I obtained my Certificate in Clinical Hypnosis and qualifies as a Relaxation and Stress Management Practitioner, having trained with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis. I obtained my Practitioner Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy in July 2019. Both the certificate and diploma courses have enabled me to work at a practical level from the onset, enabling lots of experience to be gained. I am registered with the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis and the Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council and adhere to their code of conduct, work to the highest ethical standards and have professional insurance.

What Are You Carrying?

I was thinking recently about how much we can carry without even realising it.

Worries about family.

Work pressures.

Things that happened months ago.

Things we're afraid might happen.

Other people's problems.

Things we feel responsible for.

And sometimes we get so used to carrying all of this that it just becomes normal.

But does it all really belong to us?

I think it's worth asking ourselves that question from time to time.

What am I carrying that I don't actually need to carry?

We can't change everything.

We can't control everything.

And we certainly can't fix everything for everyone.

Sometimes it's okay to put something down.

Even if it's just for a little while. 💙

Maybe that's something we all need to practise a little more.

Is it time to reset your mind?

I think September can sometimes feel like we're expected to suddenly get ourselves organised!

Back to work.

Back to routines.

Back to healthy eating.

Back to exercise.

Back to doing all the things we've been putting off! 😂

But whilst we're thinking about getting everything else back on track, perhaps we should think about our minds too.

If you've had a busy few months, been worrying about things or simply been looking after everyone else, your mind might need a little breathing space.

So today, why not give yourself 10 minutes?

Put your phone down.

Go outside.

Have a cup of tea.

Take a few slow breaths.

Or just sit somewhere quiet.

Nothing productive.

Nothing you should be doing.

Just 10 minutes for you.

Sometimes our minds don't need another thing to do.

They just need a little space.

There’s something I quite like about September.

It feels a little bit like a fresh start.

The summer is coming to an end, routines are changing and we start thinking about the months ahead.

But I don't think a fresh start has to mean setting ourselves lots of goals or deciding we're going to completely change our lives!

Sometimes it's simply about stopping for a moment and asking ourselves:

💭 What do I actually need at the moment?

💭 What is taking up too much of my energy?

💭 Is there something I need to let go of?

💭 What would make life feel a little easier?

We can put so much pressure on ourselves to be doing more, achieving more and keeping everything under control.

Maybe this September, we could try being a little kinder to ourselves instead.

What would your September reset look like?

Today is International Self Care day!

Self-care isn't selfish,it's essential. 💙

So many of us spend our days looking after everyone else, meeting deadlines, supporting family and friends, and pushing through stress.

But when was the last time you checked in with yourself?

Self care doesn't have to mean a spa day or a weekend away.

Sometimes it's as simple as:
✨ Taking a few slow, deep breaths.
✨ Going for a walk in nature.
✨ Saying "no" without feeling guilty.
✨ Getting enough rest.
✨ Talking to someone when life feels overwhelming.

Looking after your mental wellbeing helps you cope with life's challenges, build resilience, and be at your best for both yourself and those around you.

Remember: you can't pour from an empty cup.
Be kind to yourself today, you deserve the same care and compassion that you so freely give to others.

Boundaries

How often do we say "yes" when we really mean "no"?

Many of us worry that setting boundaries will disappoint others, make us seem selfish, or damage our relationships. But the truth is, healthy boundaries create healthier relationships.

Boundaries help us:
▪️Protect our time and energy
▪️Reduce stress and resentment
▪️Communicate our needs with confidence
▪️Show ourselves the same kindness we offer others

Remember, saying "no" to something that drains you is saying "yes" to your wellbeing.

This week, I encourage you to ask yourself: What's one boundary I need to set to protect my peace?

It might be:
▪️Taking a proper lunch break
▪️Switching off work emails after hours ▪️Declining an invitation you're not up for
▪️Or simply giving yourself permission to rest.

Your needs matter. Your time matters. And your wellbeing matters.

🔸️If this is something you struggle with, I can help.
