If you need healthcare advice and your GP practice is closed, you can access the out-of-hours service by calling NHS 111 Wales. 📞

By calling 111 in Cardiff and Vale, you have access to:
•Barry Minor Injuries Unit, which can only be accessed by appointment
• Press 2 for urgent mental health support
• The Out of Hours Service
• Urgent healthcare advice and triage assessment

If you run out of your medication and your GP surgery is closed, you may be able to obtain a prescription at a pharmacy under the Emergency Medicine Supply Service. 💊

If you are unable to obtain a prescription without a delay and require your medication urgently, a community pharmacist may be able to supply you with your regular prescription-only medicines.

This service is available in emergency situations. We'd always recommend you submit a medication request with your GP practice 7 days in advance to ensure you get the medication you need, when you need it.

Please find below our latest monthly practice statistics.

During April, the practice handled 1,668 incoming calls, issued over 6,000 prescription items, sent 877 administrative communications, and delivered 1,474 appointments. It is particularly encouraging to see an increase in appointments provided and attended compared to the previous month, reflecting the continued hard work of the whole team in meeting patient demand.

Our DNA rate reduced from 204 missed appointments last month to 189 this month. Whilst this is a positive improvement, missed appointments continue to represent valuable clinical time that could be offered to other patients. Thank you for continuing to remind patients to cancel appointments they no longer require and for supporting our DNA processes.
