Applications for nursery places starting in 2027 are now open!

If your child was born between 1 Sept 2023 – 31 December 2023 and you are applying for a nursery place from Spring 2027 you will get your offer on 5 October 2026.

If your child was born between 1 Jan 2024 – 31 March 2024 and you are applying for a nursery place to start in Summer 2027 you will get your offer on 8 Jan 2027! The application process closes on 29 June 2026.

Two major concerts are coming to Principality Stadium this summer:

πŸ“… Metallica – Sunday 28 June

To keep everyone safe, there will be a full road closure around the stadium from 3pm to midnight on both dates.

Key Travel Advice
β€’ The M4 is expected to be very busy – please plan ahead.
β€’ Arrive early to avoid delays.
β€’ Consider using the Park & Ride instead of driving into the city centre.
β€’ Check traffic updates via Traffic Wales or Traffic Wales South - Traffig Cymru De

Road Closures
β€’ City centre roads will close from 3pm to midnight, including St Mary Street, Wood Street, Westgate Street and surrounding areas.
β€’ Scott Road and Park Street will close from 7am.
β€’ Additional closures will affect access near the train station and Civic Centre.
β€’ Penarth Road will close shortly before and after the concerts finish.

Trains
β€’ Extra trains will run, but services are expected to be very busy.
β€’ A queuing system will be in place at Cardiff Central and Queen Street stations from around 9:45pm.
β€’ Buy your ticket before joining queues.

Park & Ride
β€’ Take That (16 June): Cardiff City Stadium (Leckwith) – Β£15 per car
β€’ Metallica (28 June): Sports Village (Cardiff Bay) – Β£15 per car
β€’ First buses from 10:30am, last return buses at midnight.

Event Parking
β€’ Event parking is available at both the Civic Centre and Sophia Gardens
β€’ Cost: Β£20 payable on the day for cars and Β£30 for coaches.
