We’re marking a year in our space at Basecamp, and it feels like a good moment to open the doors and invite people in.

If you’ve been curious about what we do, or just fancy a gentle, welcoming space to drop into, you’re very welcome to come along.

🗓 Friday 24 July | from 1pm
📍 St Maur, Beaufort Square, Chepstow

It’ll be a relaxed, open afternoon with tea, a bit of food, and space to wander, sit in the garden (if the weather behaves), and get a feel for the place. No pressure, no need to stay long.

The space is on the top floor with no lift access.

We offer affordable counselling, counselling training and CPD courses, along with neurodiverse groups and nature-based therapeutic workshops.

Counselling Training at Basecamp 💙

We’re really pleased to share this short film, which is part of a wider impact video created by Dai Baker, supported by Comic Relief funding.

It offers a glimpse into our counselling training programmes at Basecamp — for anyone thinking about developing skills in counselling, trauma-informed practice, or personal and professional growth.

Our training brings people together in a supportive learning environment, helping build confidence, self-awareness, and practical skills that can make a real difference in people’s lives.

Our next course is the Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (CPCAB accredited), beginning on 22 July 2026.

If you’re interested in training with us or want to find out more, we’d love to hear from you.

Face-to-face counselling training in Chepstow.

Our CPCAB Level 4 Diploma is delivered in person because we believe counselling is learned through relationship, reflection and real human connection.

What makes Basecamp different is that we're not simply a training provider.

We're a not-for-profit counselling cooperative.

The income from our training programmes is reinvested into providing affordable counselling within our community, meaning every student who joins us helps increase access to support for others.

Students train within an organisation that understands counselling from both sides: developing future practitioners while delivering services to adults, children and young people.

If you're looking for more than a qualification, and want to be part of a community that believes counselling should be accessible to everyone, we'd love to hear from you.

What if this time tomorrow you had taken the first step?

Tomorrow, our CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills begins.

For some people, enrolling on a course isn't just about gaining a qualification. It's about challenging themselves, building confidence, meeting like-minded people, and discovering what they're capable of.

The hardest part is often not the course itself. It's deciding to start.

If you've been thinking about joining us, today is your final opportunity to enrol for this intake.

A year from now, you could be looking back on the day you decided to do something for yourself.

📅 Starts 10 June

In just over a week, a new group of learners will begin their CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills with us.

Some are considering a career change.

Some want to develop professional helping skills.

Some are looking for personal growth and self-awareness.

Some simply feel curious.

One of our recent learners joined us feeling anxious about returning to education and unsure whether she could complete the course.

She went on to complete both Level 2 and Level 3, later telling us:

"I realised I'm stronger than I thought I was and capable of more than I believed."

You don't need to have it all figured out.

If you feel curious, that's enough.

📅 Starts 10 June

“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” — Carl Rogers

This Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re reflecting on the idea that mental health isn’t fixed.

It changes.
It fluctuates.
It requires support, compassion, and connection.

Too often, mental health is framed as either “good” or “bad,” as though we are meant to achieve some permanent state of wellness.

Mental health is an ongoing journey, one of continual balancing, growth, and care.

At Basecamp Cooperative, we believe support should be normalised, affordable, and accessible at every stage.

Awareness matters.
Action changes lives.
