Our Myopia Fun Day was packed with games, jokes, smiles, and plenty of eye-opening conversations about myopia, eye health, and how we can help protect young eyes for the future.

A huge thank you to the incredible suppliers who helped make the day so special, and to the wonderful families who continue to trust us with their eye care and the eye care of their loved ones. We even had some little visitors from Cardiff and Gloucester which was extra special! Your support means everything to us. 💙

At The Optical People, we believe great eye care is about more than just the focussed detail, it’s about the bigger picture too! 👓✨

Our training days are all about bringing our A-game. Sharpening our technical and clinical knowledge, sharing ideas, discussing new ways to support our patients, and constantly expanding our horizons so we can give the very best care and customer service possible.

Of course, it wouldn’t be The Optical People without a few laughs, plenty of personality, and some questionable facial expressions 🤣 (sorry, not sorry!)

A huge thank you to The Beaufort for hosting us so seamlessly. Independent local businesses supporting one another is exactly what makes Chepstow such a special town ❤️

Parents! This is your friendly reminder! 🗓️ 😊

Your child could have a vision problem and not even realise it. The good news? There’s no minimum age for an eye test, and it’s completely FREE on the NHS.

We keep after-school appointments just for children (because we know how busy life gets), but they go quickly, so booking ahead is a must.

We also include FREE axial length scans with our state-of-the-art equipment, helping us keep a close eye on myopia risk and progression (like a red book for eyes) as myopia is something that’s becoming more and more common in children.

We’re closed over the bank holiday weekend, but you can still request an appointment on our website. One job off the list and future you (and future kiddos) will thank you ✅

✨ Quarterly raffle prize draw ✨

This one feels extra special 💛 Since our last raffle, we’ve hit 100 reviews for The Optical People and 10 reviews for Dry Eye Wales — and we are genuinely so thrilled. Thank you to everyone who’s taken the time to leave us a review on Facebook and/or Google… it really helps our small business grow and be found 🫶

Our quarterly raffle is simply our way of saying thank you, with a £200 prize to spend in our clinic any way you like 👀✨

We also love using each draw as an excuse to celebrate how brilliant our town is. Every time, we visit a completely independent local business and come up with a fun, creative way to draw the winner 🎉

Today we were at Paint On Me on St Mary’s Street — such a lovely space filled with beautiful items, plus a full paint-your-own pottery setup in the most gorgeous setting 🎨 If you haven’t been yet, it’s well worth a visit.
