Good afternoon. As you may be aware we have had a system failure yesterday that continued until lunchtime today. Unfortunately the system has crashed again this afternoon. Fortunately the phones are working but nothing else. Please bear with us while the engineers try to fix the problem πŸ™

We are still experiencing technical issues with our clinical systems, which are affecting practices across the local area.

Unfortunately, this means we remain very limited in what we are able to assist with. If your query is not urgent, we kindly ask that you delay contacting the surgery until our systems have been restored.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while this issue is being resolved. We will continue to provide updates as soon as we have any further information.

Thank you for your continued support.

Please be aware that there is no computer access at the medical centre at the moment. This means we are unable to look at your records or issue medication. This appears to be a wider problem with several areas having the same problem. IT support are working hard to resolve this. We do not know how long this is likely to last so please be patient.
Thank you

‼️Blood Test Service Update ‼️

We wanted to keep our patients informed that the industrial action affecting blood test processing across East Lancashire is continuing.

A further period of strike action has been announced and is expected to continue until 4 September 2026. During this time, local laboratories will continue to operate at reduced capacity.

To help ensure urgent patients receive the tests they need, GP practices have been asked to limit blood test requests to around 50% of normal activity, prioritising clinically urgent cases.

If your blood test is not urgent, it may be delayed or rearranged. We appreciate this may be frustrating and thank you for your patience and understanding while laboratory teams work to restore services safely.

If you have concerns about your health, please continue to contact the practice as normal. We will arrange tests as clinically appropriate and keep you informed where possible.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

🚨 IMPORTANT PATIENT NEWS - CANCELLED BLOOD TESTS 🚨

We have been informed by East Lancashire Hospitals Trust that staff working in the Blood Sciences departments at Blackburn Royal Hospital and Burnley General Hospital will be taking part in industrial action on the following dates:

πŸ“… 15 to 19 June
πŸ“… 22 to 26 June
πŸ“… 29 June to 3 July
πŸ“… 6 to 10 July

Unfortunately, this means the laboratories at both hospitals will have a significantly reduced workforce capacity. With this in mind many upcoming blood tests at the surgery will have to be cancelled since there is no guarantee they will be tested.

We appreciate this may be frustrating, but we would politely ask patients not to contact the practice to chase up for a re-scheduled blood test appointment, as we will be unable to book anything at present until we learn more.

Thank you to all patients for your continued support and understanding.
