🩸 Routine Blood Tests – An Important Update

We know the ongoing disruption to routine blood tests has been frustrating for our patients, and we want you to know that it is just as frustrating for us as a practice.

Due to continued strike action affecting our local laboratories we remain limited in the number of routine blood tests we can offer.

We understand how difficult and worrying it can be when blood tests are delayed, particularly when you are waiting for answers or ongoing monitoring. Please be assured that we share your frustration and are doing our best to work within the limitations currently imposed on us.

The Lancashire and South Cumbria Pathology Service is working to increase capacity as soon as it is safe to do so.

Thank you for your continued patience and understanding. We appreciate how difficult this ongoing situation is for our patients, and we hope normal service can resume as soon as possible. 💙

We love seeing our patients and want to give everyone the time, care and attention they deserve. 💚

We know it can be tempting to save up a few things to discuss when you see a clinician - But our appointments are time-limited, and trying to cover several concerns in one slot can mean we don’t have enough time to address each one properly.

👉 Please book an appointment for one main problem at a time.

Have a few things you'd like to discuss? That's absolutely fine! Just let our reception team know, and they can help arrange further appointments or a longer appointment where appropriate.

👋 Meet Dr Maryam Al Khalifa! 💙

We’re delighted to introduce the newest member of our PMP team… Dr Al Khalifa! 👩‍⚕️✨

🌍 Originally from Bahrain, Maryam is now living and working in the North West of England as a GP Trainee.

She has a particular interest in women’s health and loves the variety that comes with working in general practice! 🩺

When she’s not at the surgery, Maryam is a big fan of keeping active 🏃‍♀️🏊‍♀️💪. You’ll usually find her running, swimming, strength training, at the gym, out on a hike, or discovering a new way to stay active! 🥾

Our Autumn/Winter COVID and flu vaccination campaign is getting underway!

If you are eligible for a vaccination, we will contact you when it is time to book your appointment.

📞 No mobile phone? Don’t worry — we will contact you using an appropriate alternative method.

Please keep an eye on your messages and respond to your invitation when you receive it.

Getting vaccinated helps protect you and those around you as we head into the colder months. ❤️
