πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈπŸ‘¨β€βš•οΈ We are improving how we help patients access care! πŸ’™πŸŒŸ

When you contact the surgery, our trained reception team may ask you for some brief information about why you are calling.

This helps us guide you to the right care as quickly as possible β€” whether that is a GP, another member of our practice team, another NHS service or information.

Our reception team are not making clinical decisions. They follow agreed guidance and are supported by our clinicians.

All information is treated confidentially.

This is part of our ongoing work to improve access for patients, and we will be listening carefully to feedback β€” including from our new Patient Participation Group launching in July.

🚨 Important Patient Notice – Blood Test Results 🚨

We have been informed by East Lancashire Hospitals Trust that staff working in the Blood Sciences departments at Blackburn Royal Hospital and Burnley General Hospital will be taking part in industrial action on the following dates:

πŸ“… 15 to 19 June
πŸ“… 22 to 26 June
πŸ“… 29 June to 3 July
πŸ“… 6 to 10 July

Unfortunately, this means the laboratories at both hospitals will have a significantly reduced workforce capacity. With this in mind many upcoming blood tests at the surgery will have to be cancelled since there is no guarantee they will be tested.

We appreciate this may be frustrating, but we would politely ask patients not to contact the practice to chase up for a re-scheduled blood test appointment, as we will be unable to book anything at present until will learn more.

Thank you to all patients for your continued support and understanding.

May is Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) Awareness Month πŸ’™

This month, we stand with everyone living with EDS β€” a group of connective tissue disorders that can affect joints, skin, organs, and daily life in ways many people never see.

Awareness leads to understanding. Understanding leads to better support and earlier diagnosis.

Join us this month in spreading awareness, sharing stories, and advocating for those affected by Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.

Meet Meg 🩺✨

After qualifying and gaining experience in acute medicine, Meg took her skills across the globe to Australia β€” where she discovered her true passion for nursing while working in a GP surgery.

Now she’s here with us, bringing that same enthusiasm, care, and experience to our team… and we're loving having her with us!

Please join us in giving Meg a warm welcome to the team! πŸ€— πŸ’™
