⚽💙 Proud to Support Langho Under 15 Blues💙⚽

We’re delighted to announce that High Brake House is sponsoring the brand-new kit for the Langho Under 15 Blues this season.

Grassroots football brings so much to our community: teamwork, friendship, confidence and plenty of muddy Sunday mornings. We’re thrilled to play a small part in helping these young players look the part as they take to the pitch.

Many of our residents have lifelong memories of playing, watching and cheering on local football, so it means a great deal to us to back the next generation right here in the Ribble Valley.

A huge good luck to the players, coaches and all the parents and volunteers who give up their time to make it happen. Have a fantastic season, lads, and wear those shirts with pride.

🎻🎶 A Night of Strings, Songs & Showstoppers! 🎶🎻

Last night some of our wonderful residents at High Brake House ventured out to St Paul’s Church in Clitheroe for “Bridgerton Meets Pop” – and what a fabulous evening it was.

The Clitheroe Pop Choir and the brilliant What the Pluck string quartet filled the church with music, blending elegant Bridgerton-style strings with much-loved pop hits. There were plenty of smiles, toe-tapping and even a little singing along from our group.

Best of all, every penny raised went to Derian House Children’s Hospice, a truly special charity that supports children and families across our region. 💚 We’re so proud our residents could be part of such a heart-warming community event and help support such an important cause.

A huge thank you to the performers, organisers and everyone who made our residents feel so welcome.

We hope Mary thoroughly enjoyed her rest and recuperation stay with us here at High Brake House. It’s been a real pleasure having her with us – thank you, Mary, for your lovely company, and we wish you well as you head home feeling refreshed 💚

🎨🃏 Creativity and a Little Friendly Competition at High Brake House 🃏🎨

It’s been busy recently, with our residents getting stuck into some arts and crafts and a few lively rounds of cards.

✂️ Around the craft table, there was plenty of cutting, sticking and colouring going on — and some really different creations came out of it.

♠️♥️ Meanwhile, the cards came out and the competitive spirits soon followed. Snap is a firm favourite. Card games bring back fond memories for so many of our residents and they’re a fantastic way to keep the mind sharp while enjoying each other’s company.

☕🎂 Our Macmillan Coffee Afternoon 🎂☕

What a wonderful afternoon we had at High Brake House. Our residents, families and team came together over tea, coffee and plenty of cake to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support 💚

A huge thank you to all the families who came along to join us – your support means so much to our residents and to us, and it was lovely to see you all.

And a very special mention for Julie from our kitchen team. Julie went above and beyond, producing an amazing spread of homemade cakes that looked as good as they tasted. Thank you, Julie.

Every slice and every cuppa helped support people living with cancer – thank you to everyone who gave so generously 💚

🎉🎂 It’s been a busy time for birthdays at High Brake House 🎂🎉

There’s always something to celebrate here, and lately our calendar has been full of cake, candles and plenty of happy faces.

A very special mention goes to Doreen, who recently celebrated her 90th birthday. She marked her big day surrounded by her friends and family, along with our team here at the home.

Happy 90th birthday, Doreen – from all of us at High Brake House.

We love sharing these special moments with our residents and their loved ones. It’s what makes High Brake House feel like home

We recently celebrated our lovely Pat's birthday here at High Brake House.

There were smiles all round as staff and fellow residents gathered to sing Happy Birthday, and of course there was cake.

Pat brings so much warmth and kindness to our home, and we feel very lucky to have her as part of the High Brake House family.

Our residents have been busy this week, putting together a wonderful harvest display for our home.

It's been lovely to see everyone getting stuck in, arranging, decorating and sharing memories of harvest festivals gone by.
