Not all collagen cross-linking is the same. Neither is keratoconus.

At Vale Eye Surgeons, we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL).

Every patient deserves an individual assessment to determine:

We base our decisions on detailed corneal imaging, tomography, pachymetry, epithelial mapping, age, evidence of progression, and your visual needs.

Collagen cross-linking doesn’t directly improve vision - it strengthens the cornea, stabilises keratoconus, and reduces the risk of further progression, helping preserve vision for the future.

How long will I have to wait for surgery?

Waiting for answers - and treatment - can be one of the biggest concerns when considering private eye care.

At Vale Eye Surgeons, most patients can be seen for an initial consultation within two weeks. If surgery is recommended following your assessment, this can usually be arranged shortly afterwards.

Your consultant will assess your individual needs, discuss the treatment options available and explain the next steps, so you know what to expect throughout your care.

The AcuPulse® CO₂ laser is an advanced medical laser that allows our surgeons to treat delicate skin and soft tissue with a high degree of precision and control.
