It is with sadness that we announce the closure of the Virtual Village Hall.

Created during the COVID-19 pandemic, this much-loved service brought people together from across the UK. We're incredibly proud of the community that was built and grateful to have been able to offer the service for so many years.

As the service comes to a close, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part in the sessions, supported the sessions, and helped make the Virtual Village Hall such a special place

The last live session will take place on 11th September.

While live sessions are coming to an end, the YouTube back catalogue of VVH sessions will remain available as a resource for people to continue to access, enjoy and benefit from.

Royal Voluntary Service remains committed to helping people stay connected, active and supported. If you're looking for ways to stay active, We Are Undefeatable offers a range of free resources to help people with health conditions stay active.

If you'd like to connect with your community, you can explore local Royal Voluntary Service clubs and groups, or find out more about our free Calls with Care service: https://www.royalvoluntaryservice.org.uk/our-services/supporting-people/

The Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (RD&E) and North Devon District Hospital (NDDH) have recently changed how carers access free hospital parking on their sites.

Carers can park on these hospital sites for free when visiting the person they care for in hospital or taking them in for an appointment.

To get free parking, carers must present their Devon Carers ID card and another form of ID with the carers name on (for example: council tax bill, utility bill, library card or driving licence) to a reception desk on arrival for the vehicle registration plate to be registered for free parking.

If you remember Scott and Charlene's Neighbours wedding, the NHS bowel cancer screening kit is especially for you.

If you're aged 50 to 74, the NHS will send you a free bowel cancer screening kit every two years. It only takes a few minutes to complete at home and could help detect bowel cancer before symptoms appear.

When your kit arrives, don't put it on the side and forget about it. Complete it and send it back. It could save your life.
