We hope you have a lovely bank holiday weekend.

Our staff here at Crown, are going to have a well earned rest over the bank holiday period, but we are still reachable by phone on 0161 759 7259 and email [email protected] 24 hours a day for personal attention.

Office by appointment only over this time.

Our office is open as normal from 8.30am Tuesday.

The family of Tracey Corcoran, with heavy hearts, share the passing of their beloved mum and nana.

Traceys funeral will be held at Dukinfield Crematorium on Friday 11th September at 2pm.

The family have requested traditional black, with a splash of purple to be worn.

The family extend a warm invite to everyone wishing to share fond memories, to join them at Denton Cricket Club after the funeral service.

The family of Jack, in their sorrow, share the passing of their beloved son, brother, uncle and friend.

Jacks Funeral service is to be held at Brookfield Church, Hyde Road, Gorton, on Friday, 4th of September at Noon, followed by a private interment.

Jack's family welcome everyone following the church service, to join them and share fond memories of Jack at Burnage rugby Club.

Funeral service to be held at Dukinfield Crematorium this Friday, 14th August at Noon, followed by a gathering, to remember Alma fondly, at the Queens Arms in Audenshaw.
Donations in lieu of flowers, to Manchester Children's Hospital.

Funeral history!

What is a Lychgate?

Older Churches across England, Have an archway, 'Lychgate', or 'Ressurection Gate' at the entrance.
They serve several purposes!
They are the boundary between consecrated, and non consecrated ground, They provide shelter for waiting mourners, (Some used to be fitted with benches)!

Also, during the Victorian era, The coffin would lay under the timber roof on a stone slab, to wait for the clergy to arrive to start the funeral service.

'Do we own the land of the burial plot we have purchased?'

No, You own the deed grant, meaning you own the right to be buried in that space plot. This is a lease, and the agreement can last between 25 and 100 years, this is at cemetery or graveyard discretion. Your option to renew a lease, usually comes into play at the 'time of need' if the lease time has lapsed!
