Just go and watch a show.

You need to understand what is required of you on stage, on show day, and see for yourself how things are run.

It's incredible how many people aspire to stand on stage even before they have experienced a show from the audience.

The best advice I can give an aspiring competitor is to look at the federation you fit into and go see for yourself.

It really will give you a better understanding than social media does.

As a coach and a competitor of 18 years, I find myself in a position of privilege. When I ask a client to do something, there is a very high probability that I have either experienced it firsthand or have had a client go through it.

We have an opportunity to learn every day.

Communication is a necessity.

You must give your coach the best chance of helping you by talking to them.
It's so important to know how you are, not just if the scales moved or if you got another rep.

Yes, I know there are coaches that don't care about your cat or your child keeping you up last night.
But I believe that in order to maximize your chances of achieving your goals, the more information, the better.

Telling your coach you're tired or hungry is not moaning.
It's information.

Talking is good.
