💜So today we had some of our lovely residents down in our beautiful tearooms for a drink and lunch. 💜
🩵While waiting for lunch we all looked at reminiscence books. 🩵
❤️These brought back wonderful memories from each past. ❤️
💚Some eras were from their parents, such as fashion and one lovely lady remembered how well her mother used to dress. She found a particular outfit in our fashion book and it brought back some lovely memories for her of her mother and how she remembers her. 💚

This afternoon we were blessed with a performance from Colby.
What a singer!!!! The duet with his mum too was outstanding. Our residents had the best time, singing music from their own era.
Thanks to Colby and his family for blessing us.

On Wednesday afternoon we were visited by Reggie Long, he comes to perform for us regularly and is a huge hit with our residents.
He’s an old crooner in a young body and what a voice he has.
We really look forward to his performances.

On Wednesday we had our rainy day out on the minibus to Folkestone Harbour.
The rain didn’t stop us though!
We stopped for a hot drink and a game of Shuffleboard, which many of us had never played before.
Residents all had ago and done amazingly well considering they had never played before.
We took a walk around the area, admiring the old railway that had been transformed.
It really was well worth the visit and we will be sure to go again another time

Today, I honestly don’t know where to begin with the words for our Summer Fête at Applecroft Nursing Home… what an incredible day we have had! Although the rain finally arrived after weeks of beautiful sunshine, it certainly didn’t stop us in our tracks. It was heartwarming to see so many people come along to support us and enjoy the day together.

First and foremost, I want to say a huge thank you to my wonderful Activities Assistant, Kate, and to all of the relatives and residents who helped throughout the day. Your support, hard work, and kindness never go unnoticed, and we are so incredibly grateful for everything you do. A huge thank you to our Deputy manager Rachael for coming in to help with the tea and cakes and for making her own cakes to bring in. Forever thank you.
And thank you to our manager Sarah for coming in and helping out today also, this does not go unnoticed and we really appreciate this ❤️

Thank you to everyone who played a part in making today such a fantastic success. From the face painting and bric-a-brac stall to the barbecue, delicious teas and cakes, and everything else that made the day so special, every little contribution helped create a wonderful atmosphere. So much planning and hard work went into organising this fête, and I couldn’t be prouder of how it all came together.

A special thank you also goes to the lovely Laura for entertaining us with her fantastic singing. It was wonderful to see so many residents, families, and friends singing, dancing, smiling, and making precious memories together.

To everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, or supported us in any way—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Days like today simply wouldn’t be possible without you all.

What a day we have had! Jam packed full of fun!
🩵This morning we had our minibus trip to Kingsnorth Gardens in Folkestone.
What beautiful scenery. Flowers were blooming 🌷 birds were singing 🐦 children were playing 👶🏼

Then this afternoon we were dancing away to Manic Mike. He is always a pleasure to have. And we always have a party when he is around. Whether you’re dancing, shaking a tambourine, singing or just simply watching, everyone has a good time. 🩵
