Employee Spotlight Holly Shum
To support the ever-changing landscape at Vascular Flow, Holly has recently been promoted to the position of Operations Engineer. In this new role, Holly works closely with our clients to ensure seamless integration into our ISO13485 manufacturing operation. Holly joined Vascular Flow in 2022 after spending time with us on placement as part of her MSc in Industrial Engineering and Management at the University of Dundee. When she isn’t applying her Lean/Six Sigma principles at work, she can be found spectating at ice hockey matches around the world, combining her love of travelling with her favourite sport.

London Marathon Success
Massive congratulations to our QA/RA Manager, Lucy Smith on successfully completing her first (and possibly last 😊) London Marathon in a very respectable 5hrs 6mins 7 secs.

Employee Spotlight - Amy Watson
Amy has recently been promoted to the position of Research & Development Engineer to strengthen the service we offer for both internal and external new product development projects. Amy joined Vascular flow in 2019 as a Lab Technician and re-joined us again in 2022 after completing a masters degree in Cancer Therapeutics and a spell at Merck as an Associate Scientist in their manufacturing department. When Amy isn’t working or studying Engineering, Design and Manufacture at University of Dundee, she can be found in a mosh pit, doing the crossword or reading a book.

Efforts to promote fair pay and secure working conditions in Dundee have been highlighted at a meeting to mark the anniversary of the Living Wage in the city. 🤝

Co-chair Cllr Steven Rome and other members of the Dundee Living Wage Action Group met Living Wage Scotland and Living Hours employers in the city to discuss what accreditation means for them.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the group to review the current situation in the city, seven years on from the start of the Making Dundee a Living Wage City campaign.

Attendees discussed how to encourage even more businesses to join and explore future plans to promote the movement. There are currently 118 Living Wage employers in Dundee, and 6 Living Hours employers.

Press Release – Vascular Flow Technologies (Dundee, UK) announces FDA clearance for Spiral Laminar Flow™ AV graft for haemodialysis.

Vascular Flow Technologies (Dundee, Scotland) has announced that it has received FDA clearance for its Spiral Laminar Flow™ arteriovenous (AV) graft portfolio (K252277).

The SLF™ AV graft is an ePTFE hemodialysis graft with a unique design feature on the venous end of the graft, which remodels the blood flow in a spiral laminar fashion.

The SLF™ AV Graft benefits patients by decreasing turbulent blood flow at the venous anastomosis, improving overall patency, while slowing the progression of venous neointimal hyperplasia (VNIH), which accounts for the overwhelming majority of ePTFE AV Graft failure.1, 2

“We are excited to bring a novel and innovative AV graft to the U.S. market,” said Craig Dunlop, General Manager of Vascular Flow, “This technology will be of great long-term benefit to people suffering from End Stage Renal Disease.”
