Just left Throssel Hole Buddhist Abbey, and my heart feels full 🙏
Days like this remind me why I practise and teach Reiki the way I do.
For me, Reiki has never been just a treatment or something I pick up only when I am working with clients. Reiki is a way of living, a path of self cultivation, refinement and a daily practice of coming back to the precepts, compassion, discipline and humility.
Being an Usui Reiki Ryōhō teacher is something I hold with deep care and passion. Not as a title to wear, but as a responsibility.
The more I study Reiki, Buddhism, Japanese spiritual practice and the roots of Usui Mikao’s teachings, the more I understand that Reiki was never meant to be rushed, diluted, made theatrical, or reduced into something surface level like we have done in the west.
It asks something of us. It asks us to practise and to look honestly at ourselves and to live the teachings, not just speak about them.
Today, being in a Zen Buddhist Abbey, surrounded by stillness, bells, practice, devotion and simplicity, I felt again how closely Reiki belongs to this kind of inner work.
This is why my Reiki training is not just about where to put your hands. It is about becoming steady enough, compassionate enough and clear enough to hold space for yourself and others with respect.
I am very grateful to walk this path 🙏
